Thanks for all the videos, EDE. A lovely tribute to a fine talent.

I tried to grab a track off each Yes album that showed a particularly strong Squire-influence, along with samples of his other major projects, in roughly chronological order.

Anyway, here's mention of his death on the CBS Evening News:

I don't care what you say, the title of this thread just sounds mean cause I read it as "Yes! Bass Guitarist Dead!" I kept expecting to see that kid meme where he's doing the Tiger Woods.

You may notice, Rick, that there's no exclamation point in the title, only in your imagination. hmmm

MESSAGE FROM CHRIS SQUIRE’S WIFE,
SCOTLAND SQUIRE, 1 JULY 2015
My best friend and the love of my life Chris Squire will be cremated today in Scottsdale, Arizona at 3:00 pm.
However, knowing Chris, he might be running a bit late for the event; After all, he has always been the 'late' Chris Squire.
So at 3:00 pm Phoenix time, please take a moment to play your favorite Yes or Chris Squire song, or just think of your favorite Chris Squire memory.
Sending my love to all,
Scotland Squire

I noticed, He Who. It just read funny to me. Sorry to hear that he's passed. But at my age, a lot of my favorites are starting to go. Watched Hogfather last night and felt bad that there would be no more Discworld books, but Terry was in his sixties. So, it's a shame but life moves.

I missed the 3 p.m. Thursday collective tribute, but I really like this song, which is credited to Anderson/Rabin/Squire. The video has appropriate cosmic images:

^^A good choice, and possibly the only song on Talk that actually has the entire band playing.

Really love Talk. I don't know who is playing what on it, but it's one of my favorite albums.

So, I'm thinking about doing a "Re-Listening to Yes" thread, maybe doing about an album a week.

Sounds like a good plan.

For me, YouTube is a treasure trove of videos and clips. Here's a "Lost Broadcast" featuring the original band, with Peter Banks and Tony Kaye.

Yeah, that's great footage. Hard to believe two of them are gone now, and not single member of the original band will be on their upcoming tour.
