The shops and restaurants I saw were quite charming.

I've never been to Los Angeles. I've been to California twice. The first time was a conference in San Francisco. The second time was San Diego for Comic Con and the big LW meet-up in '08.

I also spent a day in San Diego and really liked the beaches there too. I even passed by the convention center.

I'm glad that the US and Cuba are normalizing relations.

"The Count of Monte Cristo" is one of my favorite of the novels considered literary classics.

Haven't re-read it in 25 or 30 years, though. blush

I'll have to remedy that.

I've never seen any of the movie versions of that novel.

James O'Neill, father of Eugene O'Neill, made his career by playing the Count of Monte Cristo.

I never got the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The appeal was lost on me.

I saw a few episodes of the various TMNT shows over the years, but none of them ever stuck with me.

The B&W comic had a certain gritty feel to it that stood out. Oh, and the RPG was good.

I've never been into role-playing games. I tried a few years ago and thought it was kind of fun, but, for whatever reason, I never did it much.

I played a few MMORPGs online back in the day (Runescape, Adventure Quest), but dropped off once high school took priority.

Sometimes I miss being a student. I thought of going back to school after I got my master's, but I never did it.

I actually enjoy work more than I enjoyed college. I think in college I ended up doing too many things which I didn't really enjoy. Like joining student orgs.

I had been out of school for about six and half years when I went back for my master's. I was able to go full-time, so it was kind of like being in college again for a year and a half, only this time I was old enough to appreciate it more. smile
