I like looking up my street from my front porch (that I have to climb through a window to get to). This is on a summer night when the trees have all their leaves and the street lights have a nice yellow glow.

Old friends from high school. Being in the closet publicly AND being in a demanding job = reluctance and lack of energy to meet up with them, though.

I suppose I could combine the last two, beautiful view and someone I'd lost contact with: a girlfriend from Finland. The distance just got too much. A beautiful spirit, I hope life went well for her.

Tough one. I do have a couple of very close gay friends whom I can confide in. They're pretty much the only ones who I can be myself with in "real life".

Tell us about your best vacation experience.

Post divorce, buddy and I road tripped out west. We knew each other originally from NY, he was in Wisconsin. I got in a wreck in a snow storm and had to rent. The agency said it was a per day not a per mile. So we had a VW Golf, which had much better traction, a hatch for more room.. We headed from Wisc, through the Dakota badlands to Yellowstone. Yellowstone in the winter is amazing, did some cross-country skiing there and then on to Jackson Hole. Tried Downhill skiing in Idaho, met some snow bunnies, had a great time.

Experiencing the New Year at a famous shrine in Kyoto, Japan, with such orderly lines as I could only hope to see back home.

Climbing to the top of Phnom Bakheng for the sunrise, then heading back for drinks and sweetish Cambodian curry.

Jostling for position on top of one of the tallest pagodas in Bagan, and marveling at a trio of hot air balloons that rose with the sun.

Taking a break from a long week of meeting with clients in the Maldives to explore the beautiful beach just a ten minute boat ride away from the capital.

Meeting with kids from all over the world as we explore the historical sights and cultural splendor of New York, Washington DC and Philadelphia.

Heading out on the town in West Hollywood and experiencing the party same just as it looks in some movies.

Jumping from an airplane in Dubai, with the skies clear all around, and steering the chute as I watch the artificial desert palm rise up to meet us.

Bah! So hard to pick just one. Fine, staying in a gay hotel in Bangkok with Blaze during Songkran and meeting gay men from all over the world. It was great just being ourselves.

I think I overdid this question. Tell us about a piece of art that you created.

The earthquake at Kinabalu reminded me of that climb. So sad. 13 last I saw numbers. An article quoting survivors says the guides were beyond heroic.

anyhow, some drawings I did when I was a kid. Found them in my Ma's stuff after she passed so they are neat to me that she kept them. Not bad really, look like they might have been something from history class.

I wrote a couple of articles for my company. had high praise from the leaders, and got published in a broadsheet.

Tell us about your favorite pet.

My favorite pet was our dog Pooch. Pooch was a beagle/mutt mix. She had wandered into the Air Force camp in North Carolina where my brother was stationed. He had shipped her up to us and we were supposed to find her a new home as we already had a dog. but we ended up keeping her. She was a good watch dog. She would not bark at people just walking by our house. If, and only if, someone stepped into our yard, she would start barking. And as soon as one of us would start talking to the person, she would stop barking, but stay right there.

She had been trained to stay out of the carpeted rooms like all our dogs. But then we got another dog, Gretchen that just wouldn't stay out. So when Gretchen got to stay in the carpeted rooms, Pooch cautiously would come in (we of course didn't mind her coming in because Gretchen was coming in) Initially Gretchen would take Pooch by her collar and drag her back to the kitchen. Eventually even Gretchen allowed Pooch into the carpeted rooms.

Addendnum: Pooch loved to lay in the sun. Sometimes she would be laying in a patch of sunlight for a while and the patch would move as the sun "moved". Pooch would then try to drag the patch back to where she had been laying, like it was a blanket.

What is the most amount of money you have found?

Wow, Pooch was a smart dog.

I don't think I've ever found more than a few coins lying here and there. I've certainly never found bills or a whole wallet. How sad.

Tell us about your favorite comfort food.

Tuna Fish and Noodle Casserole. Ma would make a ton of it, freeze most so it was around when she was working too much to cook.

Grandma's cream of squash. Over half a dozen veggies mixed together in an enticing thick soup. The first of her recipes that I really learned.

Friend ever since high school. His folks used to feed me probaly a lot more than they had ever planned, lol.

I still like that "Comfort Food" question so I'll go back to that.

I also like spaghetti and meatballs. It's always a big event whenever we have that, probably once a month. The meatballs are homemade, we add some hotdogs and plenty of grated cheese on the side. Sometimes when I make the sauce I add some mushrooms and onions for a little extra flavor.

Tell us about your favorite beach.

I would say that my favorite beach was the one I would go to when I was a kid. In the summer, every Saturday, my dad would take us kids to my grandmother's house. We would do a few chores, have lunch, and then head to the beach. That would be Seabrook Beach. I loved jumping in the waves. (this was on the ocean).

Tell us about a historical era/event that you find fascinating.

As in fascinated and not done near any study: Civil Disobedience/abolitionist movement from Thoreau to Wilberforce in the later 1800s to the American movement. People moving so contrary to their country, their economic and physical well-being to do what was right and in a peaceful way.

Since I've been so lax,... what book have you read that had a profound affect on how you see the world or made you want to change how you do things?

Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman. Made me realize that IQ is not everything and we should learn to play well with others.

What would you consider your biggest blessing in life?

The ability to resist "go along to get along" when colleagues are doing something I would consider morally wrong or a poor approach, particularly when I feel someone would be harmed in some way.

Name a time you were tempted to do wrong but resisted or maybe just something you regret having done or said.

Well, I wouldn't say it is wrong to do. One time a boss who smoked cigars offered me one. I was tempted to try it, but didn't. My thought was that smoking is bad for you and if I started, I would get hooked on smoking.

what celebrity/famous person would you like to never hear from/about again?

Oh, so many people. It's so hard to pick just one.

There are a ton of politicians in the Philippines whom I would love to have disappear into a black hole. A lot of bigoted writers, thinkers and celebrities too.

If I had to pick someone more well-known internationally, Iggy Azalea has been getting on my nerves recently.
