Several of us on LW are Yes fans, and, I'm very sorry to learn of his passing. Yes has been one of my favorite bands for about 32 years, ever since "Owner of a Lonely Heart" burst onto the airwaves. Fans of the "commercial" era of the band generally do not like the earlier prog rock style of Yes, with its extended suites. But I liked both, and a large part of the reason was because of Squire, who was the band's only constant member.

Squire was only 20 when he co-founded Yes and 67 when he passed away. It may not be too much of a stretch to say he grew up in Yes. To spend one's entire career in one band is an amazing achievement these days, and Squire certainly kept Yes going despite the frequent defections of some of his more famous teammates, Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, and Rick Wakeman.

Rest in peace, Chris. Thanks for the memories.

I, too, liked both the commercial and prog approaches of the band.

I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for him to hold the band together. And to be taken away just three years before the 50th Anniversary...

The way I'm trying to look at it is that the music in Heaven has just gotten richer.
