Yeah, doom and gloom. But the only way was up for the Legion (as a team - I was buying it so not as a book) after that. Well, slowly probably.

I don't see offerings of any kind in our future anyway. shrug

I'd like to offer up a witty and interesting comment here, but neither the coffee or the allergy meds have really started to work yet. sigh

I wonder if Allergy Lass was the original version of Infectious Lass, but then they had to rework her to make her more powerful.

I think DC's overall problem the last several decades (apart from varying quality) was they couldn't decide whether their timeline was fixed or fluid. The JSA was active during World War II. The Legion was 1000 years in the future and roughly aged with it. Everything else was kind of ambiguous. The Infinitors became more and more remote in time from their parents. The Justice Leaguers aged and some retired or died and had others take up their mantles. Superman and Wonder Woman endured, but as a Kryptonian and an Amazon, respectively, they didn't grow old. It all came down to Batman, a character I was never that fond of. He was starting to get too old, so they sent him off and had Dick take his place. Then they brought him back, were back where they started and decided to "fix" it all with Flashpoint (and we all know how well that worked. wink ).

That's a good point, Rocky. Batman's inability to age is tied back to WB's insistence on using the character as their cash cow in their multimedia ventures. While Dick taking up the mantle was an interesting and logical choice, it simply would have burdened the Batman franchise with continuity that scared the WB investors.

Hmm... if there were only some way you could have characters age while periodically introducing newer and younger versions of characters in some sort of alternate reality... like on a parallel Earth or something... wink

But won't another Earth be confusing for readers? It would be like having Sherlock Holmes and Wuthering Heights on your bookshelf. Obviously madness, as you'd immediately want to know why Watson wasn't teaming up with Heathcliff. That's why my library only has one book. And that book is Absolute Crisis.

Note to self: give Invisible Brainiac time-travel AND self-aging powers and have him team up with IB's from the multiverse with all split into their seven selves. Every time I meet Thoth, introduce a different IB. Giggle madly while doing so.

Pop star and alleged prima donna Ariana Grande first gained fame as a Nickelodeon actress, playing Cat Valentine on VicTORIous.

thoth gently dabbed the last of his iodine on another cat inflicted wound. The sharp pain contrasted with the dull all over ache he felt from recent adventures. With a sigh, he rose from the comfy cane chair and shuffled in his worn slippers to the squinty ziggurat's kitchen. That fridge wasn't going to clean itself. Despite having given it plenty of time to gain sentience and get on with it.

I was so surprised when I found that out. Cat was really ditzy if I recall.

What are your thoughts on Grande, Fanfie? She has a good voice, but makes terrible music, in my opinion.

Ibby, Cat was ditzy, but she was still much more likable that Ariana seems to be in Real Life.

Stalgie, I don't like her voice (too much like Mariah Carey karaoke) or her songs.

Yeah, I still remember the Wi-Fi in the Sky episode where we see what Cat's bedroom looks like, and it's all bright colors and stuffed animals. Awwww. love

I can't stand any of Nickelodeon's live action shows, though that may be due to my bias towards their cartoons.

I liked Nickelodeon back in the early '80s when it was mostly British and Canadian imports. My favorite was the original Tomorrow People.

I think Nickelodeon actress Victoria Justice would make a good Shadow Lass.

The Hall of Justice on Super Friends was modeled on Union Terminal in Cincinnati, now the Cincinnati Museum Center. Cincinnati's skyline was shown in the opening credits of WKRP in Cincinnati (of course) and The Edge of Night, where it stood in as the skyline of the fictional city of Monticello. Edge was owned by Procter and Gamble, which is, naturally, based in Cincinnati.
