I haven't read a newspaper regularly since I moved to Houston 17 years ago. When I moved here, the one daily, The Houston Chronicle had an editorial slant that I found rather annoying. In the intervening time, it has moderated on many issues, but I got out of the habit and decided that I didn't need the clutter. I get my news on the radio and online.
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

One of the big broadsheets here has a lot of ads.
I prefer to get news online as well, though I do enjoy reading some of the editorials in the newspapers.

I used to read the Houston Chronicle for the Sunday morning cartoon strips as a kid. It was a fun tradition that I regret to have stopped once I got to high school.

Unfortunately, the creator stopped the series years ago.  You can still find a lot of the strips on Google though.

One student at my university likes to to randomly twerk without his shirt on in public around the campus and post videos of it on Facebook.
