I haven't read a newspaper regularly since I moved to Houston 17 years ago. When I moved here, the one daily, The Houston Chronicle had an editorial slant that I found rather annoying. In the intervening time, it has moderated on many issues, but I got out of the habit and decided that I didn't need the clutter. I get my news on the radio and online.

One of the big broadsheets here has a lot of ads.

I prefer to get news online as well, though I do enjoy reading some of the editorials in the newspapers.

I used to read the Houston Chronicle for the Sunday morning cartoon strips as a kid. It was a fun tradition that I regret to have stopped once I got to high school.

My favorite Sunday comic strip would be Calvin and Hobbes. I also like Blondie and Beetle Bailey.

My very favorite comic strip has been Peanuts since I was able to read.

My all-time favorite is local strip Pugad Baboy. Unfortunately the jokes don't translate so well into English.

Another one of my favorite strips was Secret Asian Man, which was about a second generation Asian-American living in the U.S.

Unfortunately, the creator stopped the series years ago. frown You can still find a lot of the strips on Google though.

I've never seen "backread" before. That's a new word for me.

One student at my university likes to to randomly twerk without his shirt on in public around the campus and post videos of it on Facebook. shake

I knew this guy in grad school who wore a sports team jersey every day. I saw him in a button-down shirt once and was floored.

If I could, I would wear a tank top and shorts every day. The heat index is pushing 45 degrees Cvelsius due to humidity

*giggles cutely again and bats his eyelashes at Rocky*

I love the puppies, Stalgie. They help me destress after a hard day at work.
