The stuff they got away with in the original Flash Gordon comics might shock modern readers of newspaper comics in the U.S. The witch queen letting a brainwashed Flash watch as she whipped a naked, chained Dale, for instance. Maybe the witch queen was Grimbor's Mom or something. Somebody should write this fanfic, if they haven't already.
