The verbing of nouns drives me nuts.

"Friend" is only a verb in the context of social media.

"Gifted" refers to intelligent people. When something is made a gift, it is given or donated.

One keeps a journal. One does not "journal".

I once heard "elder" as a verb. I can't remember how that even worked.
