I guess a smiley would have helped there. Ah well.

Guy Smiley was a character on Sesame Street who was a parody of obnoxious game show hosts.

Guy is one of those names that just should not be given to children, unless the parents want them to face a lifetime of really bad jokes.

The creator of Bloom County was unfortunate enough to be saddled with not only a horrible first name, but also a horrible middle name, and a horrible surname: Guy Berkeley Breathed.

Ben Stiller once played a character named Gaylord Focker. I cringed in sympathy when I heard that.

Gaylord the Buzzard is a supporting character in the comic strip Broom-Hilda.

Broom-Hilda is, of course, a play on Brünnhilde. I always loved the scene in "What's Opera, Doc?" where Bugs Bunny, dressed as Brünnhilde, rides in on a ridiculously corpulent horse.

I liked Bugs best when he isn't the aggressor, but only fighting back. I dislike the ones where he torments someone for seemingly no reason.

I think Bugs is a bit of a smug asshole in general so that characterization works for him.

I remember him being a lot like that in the earlier cartoons. My impression for the later ones though was that he would only torment those who started it, so to speak.

In a lot of the cartoons, Elmer or Sam mean to do Bugs harm. He's defending himself.

I prefer the Bugs of the 40s and early 50s (sassy) to the Bugs of the mid 50s to the present (smug.)

I watch cartoons to escape from real life.

Whenever someone mentions the GoBots, I'm reminded of Randall making fun of Elias about the Transformers and Gobots in Clerks 2.

The following does not feflect the views and opinions of Nostalgia lad

Never watched Clerks 2, didn't like Clerks 1.

I think GoBots gets a bad rap. Like I said in my Transformers/GoBots review thread, Transformers had quality animation, characterization and voice acting, but GoBots had stronger plots than Transformers.

I really liked Clerks. Clerks 2 fails at comedy spectacularly, but the themes and dramatic moments are fantastic. I loathe everything else Kevin Smith has done though.

The original Transformers cartoon is one of those things I want to watch. I'll look into it this summer when I'm free from schoolwork hopefully.
