Lets just say that my meds for diabetes were having a creeping effect on me that it took not having them for several days to identify.
So please, check your meds for side effects, and don't assume because it was working then it's doing you good now. Mine, probably doing me great over the long haul for my diabetes, but I was about to not make the long haul with my BP 150+ over 100+ and my rate up to 120. Sugar is bad, but that's long term for the most part.
So please, don't forget to check yourself and your meds. Stick around.
Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!

Hope you weren't experiencing anything too bad, rick! Hello, 120 bp. That sounds bad. That's nearly twice mine.

Whoops, I must have missed that. Have you contacted your doctor about whether to stay on the medication, rick?

My heart rate is normally around 80 bps, and was hitting 120 while sitting down. Turns out Glypizide, which is used for my sugar, has side effects of nervousness, anxiety, accelerated heart rate, and some others. Combine that with Onglyza, which also has the same ones, and you get a guy, normally pretty even keeled (yes, I know. Me, even keeled...you can stop laughing now cause while it may sound really passionate when I post about some things, it's just the way I write) I was ready to bite people's heads off, I was even short tempered with my son and wife, something I never am.
I was out of the glypized for a couple of days, and noticed I was feeling good for once, no overall aches that made me hurt all over. Then, I got my medicine and took it. Within 20 minutes my heart was at 119 bps, I was anxious and feeling like fighting everyone, thing, and possibly stuff from the other plains if they decided to visit.
So, I stopped both. I'm making a change with the dr.'s approval.
So, just because something was working for you guys at one point, take regular stock of your physical and mental situation to make sure you haven't developed a problem.

Glypizide & Onglyza - Well, that's the villain names sorted for my JLA fanfic where they go up against Abegezar, Rath & Ghast.
Real glad you're getting this sorted out Rick. That's one heck of a heart rate, not to mention all the other effects. Yikes!

Thanks Thoth. They started out great, but it was building up slowly and the effects were getting worse and worse without my realizing it.
Gotta watch for that. It's what gets older folks....well, older than me....all the time. They wind up dead or in the hospital, where it gets straightened out, only to go home and get confused and messed up again.
I'll hopefully have a few more years before that starts happening to me, but this was an eyeopener.

I'm glad you caught it, Rick. Sounds like being out of your meds for a couple of days was a blessing in disguise.

Out of the blue in work today, someone told me a similar tale of meds crossing over. Their mother had passed out on two or three occasions over the last month. The tests showed it was due to the crossover in the meds.

Yikes, glad you caught on to what was happening, Rick. You never really think about "maintenance" drugs changing on you outside of simply having to up the doses occasionally. I'll bear that in mind.
