My favorite GL is still the original Alan Scott.

I have a soft spot for many GL Corps members like Arisia and Kilowog.

My favorite non-human GL is Ch'P.

^^The first comic I ever owned was Ch'p's first appearance!

They've put a lot of effort into building up the supporting cast at Ferris. People with plotlines of their own too.

The few Lantern issues I got when I was younger, all had Hal moaning or quitting or moaning about quitting.

I probably missed the one where he quits to join the Fantastic Four, who all quit leaving Hal alone to moan.

I was quite partial to John Stewart, up until I read Cosmic Odyssey which pretty much ruined him for me.




There are some interesting memos in the absolute edition that shows just how willing Wolfman was to fit in bits and pieces. It's a very different approach to the crossover farming that went on after it. No doubt quite a few missed opportunities, but I think that's more to do with the rest of DC than Wolfman really.

I love books with rich supporting casts.

When Englehart took over the book from Wein he was left with some awkward decisions. I read an article where, reading between the lines, he really wanted to write Hal as Green Lantern. But he also didn't want to do a disservice to Stewart, who had been rightfully selected and was doing a good job.

That would explain why he wrote that great Hal-centric storyline that ran through GL#191-192. That had some of Hal's best characterization!

I like how the different Earth Green Lanterns have come into their own. They are written so uniquely now.

BTW, my current boss has giant figurines of Jordan AND Sinestro in his office. I didn't remark about that until well after the interview, though.

One of my bosses has a painting of Aquaman.

If it's Seventies home perm Aquaman, I must see it!

I prefer 90s long-haired and bearded and harpoon-handed Aquaman.

But they with the Cosmic Curls need love, too.

I had very curly hair as a baby. My dad, who had very straight hair for an Indian man, thought he picked up the wrong kid at the hospital.

Baldness runs in my family. I'm very much hoping I took after the one uncle who still has a full head of hair.

I think the gene for baldness is sexually linked so it's passed on the mom's side for boys. Are the men on your mom's side of the family bald or balding?

My grandpa is bald but my uncle is not. Hopefully I got my uncle's genes!

Some of us think we look rather cute bald.

I'm not one of those though I don't think it would suit me.

Maybe you should shave your head to find out?

Can't we just use Photoshop to simulate a shaved head?

I am awful with Photoshop.

Most guys who shave their heads need to grow facial hair. Some can pull it off without looking like a cueball, but not all.

I do wonder what you would look like without a beard now, Rocky.
