I just wish somebody would get Quank back from that Green Lantern planet so he could shake his fist at this thread and yell at it to die. Y'know, just for the sake of old times. Maybe he should be a Red Lantern now?

Well, vomiting red goo over the keyboards of everyone would certainly work towards closing the thread down...

I remember when DC first did the rainbow spectrum Lanterns thing, I was thrilled, even comparing it to Alan Moore's Parliament of Trees in Swamp Thing. Ah, to be so naïve again...

On the other side of the fence, I was mocking it waiting for Plaid Lantern and Tartan Lantern to appear. If only I could be naïve again...

Would Plaid Lantern and Tartan Lantern have had crap accents a la Claremont's X-Men?

Plaid Lad: Weaving many Lantern colours together. Focusing his powers "to their ultimate extent"* to be the "best Lantern at what Lanterns do best when they're Lanterning*". To be sure bejesus.

Tartan Lantern left his wife for a bottle of whiskey (Monty Python reference fully intended).

It's the fault of Boggle Board Lantern and his ability to make everything look like wooden blocks!

Chinese Lantern plants are supposed to be indestructible, but I don't think mine has started to re-sprout yet.

How about Gingham Lantern? He has the power to materialize female characters from Little House on the Prairie.

Would that put Nellie Oleson in the Sinestro nemesis role?

My favorite Super Friends episode is "Darkseid's Golden Trap", from the penultimate season.

Definitely. I notice that when most people think Super Friends, they think of the Wonder Twins or the Super Friends versus the Legion of Doom. The final two seasons are like buried treasures.

The Filmation Green Lantern episodes are my favorite Super Friends material.
Keep up with what I've been watching lately! "Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you."

The 1960s Filmation cartoons were repackaged along with Super Friends in later decades, but technically Super Friends cartoons are only the Hanna-Barbera cartoons produced between 1973 and 1985.

Your wish will come true, Ibby. And Ronnie and Professor Stein both have really good voices.

Professor Stein was voiced by Olan Soule, previously the voice of Batman, whose voice was taken over by Adam West that season.
