Perhaps the rush of tempting comments around "Ectoplasmic Pudding" caused him to pass out?

I've had some interesting discussions with folks about the spelling of "yay" and related words. Here's how I see them:

"Ya" - Pronounced |yuh|. An informal form of "you". "Are ya going?"

"Yay" - Pronounced |yay|. Meaning "hurrah". "Yay, Lardy is here!"

"Yea" - Also pronounced |yay|. An archaic form of "yes" or "indeed". "Yea, the sparrow hath found her an house."

"Yeah" - Pronounced |ya| (short a). An informal form of "yes". "Yeah, we're going."

Getting them mixed up can be amusing: "Yay! The sparrow hath found her an house" would be totally different.

Particularly when it's Hath Set who would bump off the sparrow as he hates all bird life, especially Hawks.

Chris Rock on boy bands pretending to be something they're not:

"Backstreet Boys? Oh, I'm SCARED of THAT backstreet. Who's in the front street, BIG BIRD?"

I'm repressed enough that a boy band encounter is more scary than random gang violence. smile

You gotta loosen up, Thoth, boy bands are just like your average entertainer: insincere and self-destructive, but basically harmless.

Scenario 1: Yeah, I was mugged. There were four of them*
Response: Jeez, are you OK?

Scenario 2: Yeah, I ran into a boy band. There were four of them.
Response: Jeez, just one short of their perfect marketing dynamic. Did they, like, do things to you... like dance routines?

It's the shame of Scenario 2 that's tough to cope with smile

*acceptable lie that everyone knows is a lie, therefore it's really not.
