Welcome back to the boards XRay Russ. Nostalgia Lad has not long started a review of the 5YG issues, so it would be great to have your input there.

Thank you for letting me know! I'll check em out, as that's the era I sorta came in on for the Legion (and as such, there was never a comic whose backstory I considered "too daunting")

Welcome! Love your username, btw!
Thanks! I's from my DC Tabletop game from AGES ago where I played a timelost Legion Cadet named X-Ray Russ who was stuck in the 20th Century after an attack on the Academy by the Time Trapper. Thanks, happy to be here!

Nah, it stood out because I was tickled that someone with a relatively short tenure, like Dragonmage, could last so long in that game.

Hi all, I'm Will! I've always been interested in the Legion, and when I first got into comics, I really wanted to get into the franchise, but all the continuity talk scared me off. Since then, I've gotten a better grasp of DC continuity, retcons and the like, and have decided to give the Legion another go. My main comic community is the CBR forums, but that site's Legion community seems to be non-existent. So I decided to Google for a Legion site and here I am. I joined this site so I'd have some people to talk Legion with and also so that I'd have experts to help me through my Legion experience. Anyway, I'm gonna kinda steal Andy's format for a quick intro Will Sydney, Australia University student studying Education and majoring in English and Education Studies I've got next to no experience with the Legion. I've been reading comics for around 5 years. I got REALLY into comics 3 years ago, which probably makes me a baby for a lot of people. My favourite comic teams/series/characters/whatevers are the Bat-family, the Flash family (pre-Rebirth era), the X-Men, Captain America stuff, Daredevil, the Justice Society, and Thor. I'm mainly interested in the Levitz/Giffen era and as an extension the Johns/Retroboot era. I'm mainly looking for big, but still heartfelt space stories. This is partly because I find the Legion to be much more interesting and diverse than the Green Lantern comics, which I've tried really hard to get into a numerous points, but just can't seem to beyond getting attached to a few characters (Kyle Rayner, John Stewart and Guy Garnder (and maybe Simon Baz)). Aside from comics and the comic industry, I'm also into video games and the goings ons of that entire industry, and am a PC gamer (though I do own consoles, PC is my preferred platform). Anyway, I hope this all works out

Welcome to Legion World, Will. You'll find a lot of other X-Men fans here, including myself. After I make this post, I'll come back and edit a link to the main X-Men thread. EDIT: http://www.legionworld.net/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=507101#Post507101

Welcome Will! We are a pretty diverse group here. Different people have their favorite period of Legion history. But we get along pretty well (even if you like that totally horrible period of the Legion ) I generally play the games in the Spaceopoly forum. Others are more into fan-fic. If you have any Legion questions, you will find people more than willing to answer your question, probably with more details than you want.

Someday someone is going to join and say, "Well, I'm mostly a fan of the Gerry Conway era..." Welcome onboard, and, as others have said, feel free to ask any questions you might have. It's always good to have new perspectives on stories we've hashed out repeatedly.

Welcome aboard, Will! Always glad to have another Legionnaire sign up. Feel free to browse, contribute, and ask! And one of these days we'll get a 5 Year Gap fan... "Atmos, Porcupine Pete, Storm Boy, Reflecto, they're MY Legion, I love imagining what cool, crazy adventures they got into..."
I'm mainly interested in the Levitz/Giffen era and as an extension the Johns/Retroboot era. I'm mainly looking for big, but still heartfelt space stories.
I'm sure people here will have tons of stories to recommend for you

I'm pretty sure on this board Storm Boy, Reflecto, and Porcupine Pete already have nearly as many fans as most of the regular Legionnaires!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Just a quick question: where should I go for continuity help? Just have some questions about what's still canon for the Retroboot Legion after the Earth-2 implication at the end of the New 52 series is all.

You might be interested in this thread, which tries to keep track of continuity issues in Levitz's latest run. To be honest, one of the biggest problems I had with the retroboot generally is that they were always vague and loose about what was and wasn't in continuity.

Hmmm... it looks like the Encyclopedia Galactica section has not been updated for a while. You can look for threads in the main Legion of Super-heroes page. If you don't see a thread that addresses your particular question, feel free to start a thread.

Hi Will! Great to have you here. Someday someone is going to join and say, "Well, I'm mostly a fan of the Gerry Conway era..." I did start off a Justice League Detroit tribute :-) One of the many good things about the rereads threads, is finding the positives in all periods of the Legion.
