Welcome RpBoy!

Sherman's art was just great. His work on #300 had always stayed with me. But when I got to read his earlier issues...wow.

Hi there! My name is Eric and I make a podcast about the Legion of Superheroes called Eric and the Legion. I read through the Legion of Superheroes archives in a SparkNotes-ish kind of style, making jokes as I go.

I am stoked to join a community of fellow Legion of Superheroes fans! The Legion is my favorite team because they are a group of heroes with strange (and seemingly useless) powers that are unstoppable when they work together. I also enjoy the expansive cast of characters and their relationships with each other. My favorite era is the Edmond Hamilton/John Forte run on Adventure Comics.

Other than Legion, I love Green Arrow, Red Tornado, and Zatanna. I got hooked on comics by listening to the Tom vs. Comics podcast. I also play a lot of board games and video games. Feel free to add me on Steam! Rasputin27 or tmbgsqueak (not sure how you look it up).

By the way, my favorite band is They Might Be Giants.

Welcome, Eric!

I'm a huge fan of the Hamilton/Forte era, so always nice to have another one on here!

In case you're not aware, a lot of Hamilton's prose fiction is currently in the process of being reprinted by Haffner Press.

Yeah. I find Sherman's work to be both really dynamic and really expressive. And he was able to really differentiate each legionnaire so that they looked very different from one another, much like Grell did, but Sherman could do so without the need for lots superfluous detail. He made the Resource Raiders actually interesting.

I was not aware of the Hamilton prose. I don't read a whole lot of books that aren't comics, but I would consider it for Edmond Hamilton.

Welcome to LW Eric!

I enjoy Hamilton's comics and beyond work too. Looking forward to your podcasts, as I've been really enjoying the Archive threads here.

Thanks for the interest Thothkins! I am 30 episodes in and episode 31 comes out tomorrow. I am also doing a live show at Emerald City Comics in Clearwater, FL on November 29. The store is working with me and putting all Legion related merchandise on sale that week!

Wow. That sounds great Eric. One to definitely check out - and hopefully with pics too.

I'll download a few podcasts over the weekend for train journeys next week.

Could be, I'll take a look at our old Archives threads too.

I listened to your first podcast Eric and it was fun. What theme music are you using?

The song is "Why, Oh Why, Oh Why (Oh Oh Oh Oh" by Bomb The Music Industry! and it can be dowloaded for free (along with every song they have ever made) on their website.

His podcasts are epic - its kind of like having your own personal James Falconer (Columbo, princess Bride) someone caringly read you cliff notes version of the legion (and occasionally complain about poor resource investments). I've listened to every episode now.

Hello LSHers!

This is more of a REintroduction, but since it's been eight years since I've been around, it's fair enough. wink

I'm Jason, scifi and horror geek, and I've run into a few board members at conventions here and there.

Most notably I'm a Kinetix fan, and made a site with a TON of Zoe scans back in the day. That still exists, but wasn't updated much when Legion of Three Worlds came out, for obvious reasons!

I kinda fell out of love with the Legion after that. I still LIKED them, but a lot of the fire I once had was gone, and none of the recent LSHes quite connected with me. I stopped wandering here though, mainly because I'm terrible at message boards. I often thought of coming back, but then the crushing time demands of life and other things and distractions stopped me.

Still, with the Legion making some pretty cool appearances over in Justice League United, I thought I'd come back and say hi, even though I'll probably disappear again, because I'm awful...

And oops, I DIDN'T MEAN TO WRITE A NOVEL HERE!! That's another thing about me, I'm not known for being succinct. I blame too many Chris Claremont comics.

J

YAY! Welcome back! And as a big Kinetix fan, I want to say THANK YOU for this wonderful site of yours. I first came across it more than a decade ago, but whenever I need a nostalgia fix I go back and look at it.

Btw, Zoe shows up in her non-Terrorform form and in a green costume in JL United 8 smile
