Hopefully ANY 50th anniversary specials on Star Trek next year will be dedicated to his memory.

This is a long one for those who want to sit throught it. Nimoy held a Skype panel at last year's Salt Lake Comic Con. I had tickets but missed going due to being half way across the country for work. One of his last public appearances.

Spock in Love from the great animated series.

I've actually never looked into the animated series. Is it worth a look?

I think every Trekker owes it to him or herself to watch the animated series at least once. It's dated, yes. But fun.

The animation style is the same as the old Filmation Green Lantern and Flash episodes I love so I might check it out on Netflix.

Another series I loved growing up that I recently "acquired" the entire run of, In Search of... This one fueled my love of what if, conspiracies and the unknown. It also inspired the writer in me. One of my two favorite episodes:

I watched the Animated series for the first time last year - it was on CBS.com, and they had all of the episodes, in case you don't have Netflix.

Honestly, I loved it. While the animation was pretty crappy, the stories were as good as some of TOS. I also liked that there were episodes that did not feature Kirk. It actually explored some other characters.

So, if you like the original series, definitely watch this.
