Both drawings were by the fabulous Dean Lee, who *should* be working in comics!

Why, it's the most beautiful gallery ever!
Drura sure is a show stopper. Even with her 'mucous' cape, she looks delicious!
Excellent work Dean, and everyone else whose contributions are in here.

Where is DAVID KING????
Scott, did you get that book he was selling? How was it?
Hey everybody, David King was a cartoonist who posted his great retro-styled Legion art at LegionPics and LSH-Pics. He has a website, too. Yeah, I gotta find the guy....

Good point, Dean. Where is Mr. King? David's a hilarious guy and great artist from what I've seen on his web site and other message boards, but I've only seen him pop in here once or twice. His web site is listed in the drop-down box on Legion World's main page, if anyone is interested. Here's the link: http://www.sweaterthieves.com/legion/legion.htm

David King -is- a member here... search for him in the directory. He's only posted twice, so I don't know how useful a PM would be, but there was an email icon in his listing. FYI.

Yeah, I always enjoyed his art but I don't ever have much of a chance to go to check in the yahoo groups these days so I don't know if he's still drawing or what.

A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME???
INFECTIOUS LASS was one of the 5 Legionnaires, Subs, Rejects or Cadets that MARK WAID chose for Gail Simone's current signed comics giveaway.
Could this, combined with her recent return to Legion continuity in the FOR NO BETTER REASON arc, signal a role for Drura in Waid's upcoming re-imagining of the LEGION?
YES, a million times, YES!!!!

Ah, Lash. It's so nice to see you so enthusiastic about the return of Infectious Lass to the pages of Legion books. Why, it reminds me of way way back when I was pining for full membership for Dreamer. I had started a Nura yahoo group. I posted drawings of her continually. I scanned and posted each and every appearance she made in the book... until finally, Dream Crime began and she was given a very large part in the story, culminating in her receiving that coveted spot as a true Legionnaire!
And now Drura, who began as a reject, became a Sub and then went on to marry a Legionnaire and pretty much become part of the team, has survived the reboot, just before the re-imagining. Really, it's like a fairy tale and you, as clearly her biggest fan, have every right to believe that she will play a part in the new Legion to come! Salute!

YES, a million times, YES!!!! All I can say is I hope you are correct Lashie. Superboy # 201 was the first Legion book I ever remember reading (when it first came out! LOL), and I loved Drura from the first moment I saw her. I was sadden by the fact she really wasn't on the team. I was lucky enough as I got older to commission Dave Cockrum to do a Drura for me (if I knew how to post it I would). Yet when I was reading #37, and turned that page and saw her there... I was 7 yrs old again. I hadn't gotten that thrilled by a Legion book in years, and I'm a die hard fan. Gail can write the Legion any day of the week for me. I love her work on Birds of Prey. I also have to give props to DeanLegion for his Drawings as well. He is a very talented man, and should be in the industry. Sorry for the ramblings guys...just couldn't resist.

I love ramblings, Healex!
I first encountered Drura in S/LSH # 218, her second appearance... and was fascintaed by her, mainly for her hella-kewl visual.
Later, when I decided I wanted to draw my own comics, I "borrowed" (okay... STOLE) her exact look for a character on my team of ass-kicking chick superheroes. How did I explain my character's exotic look? HEY! She was a mutant... (this was the early 80s and X-MEN was king!)
I never forgot her striking visual and eventually back-collected S/LSH # 201, her first appearance, and was thrilled to see her.
VERY sporadic appearances throughout the years kept my fire for her alive, and then we had TMK, where she gained the most exposure she'd ever had.
Even after Keith, Tom & Mary left or were let go, Drura was a big presence and was one of the few saving graces of "LEGION ON THE RUN".
It was difficult watching her fade from continuity, lo, those 10 or so years ago...
And now.... *dreamy sigh!* After teases in LEGIONNAIRES # 43, and the SECRETS OF THE LEGION mini... she's BACK!! My girl is HERE, and she's KICKING ASS!
*satisfied sigh*

One thing that occurred to me in this last issue is that Drura has the ability to give someone a disease but somehow controls its spread. Cham mentions bubonic plague and sexual diseases - which aren't airborne - but in the past she's handed out assorted flus - without starting a pandemic, and without anyone nearby catching the same illness. Even at her Legion try-out, before she could control her power, she gave Star Boy too strong a dose - but there was no concern mentioned that she might be seeding some illness that would spread. Her attacks have always been able to focus on specific people and have it end there.
