I can't embrace Evil so long as there's a fresh-made cocktail in my hand and fabulous leftovers warming up in the oven right now.

I think comparing Remender to Johns is a bit inaccurate. At least Johns has written SOME good stuff in his career.

Y'know, it does seem more glamorous if I imagine that the leftovers were stolen. Even though they weren't.

Did I ever tell you about the winter here that was so nasty I didn't walk out to the garage for something like a month? And when I finally did, I discovered that some Evildoer had stashed a box of stolen meat from some local supermarket in a corner abutting the neighbors' yard? (They probably intended to come back for it, but then had a memory lapse.) It's true. Thankfully, the packages stayed sealed tightly shut even though their contents had gone bad, otherwise who knows what other undesirable "guests" would have shown up to dine. (Ewww...)

I prefer leaving my leftovers cold. Whenever I reheat something, the taste feels slightly off to me.

Chinese food makes for the best leftovers. Conversely, Tex-Mex food isn't good for a later meal since the cheese tends to get hard and dry when stored in a fridge and sour cream can't be left open to the fridge air.

Mmm. Nachos. Had some last night. Sinfully good.

The last leftover I had was a grilled cheese sandwich from a local bar and grill. It came with beef. Oh, and the fries tasted good with mayonnaise.

I mostly eat leftovers for dinner now. By the time I get home from work, everyone else is done eating.

I made The Boyfriend mac and cheese in a heart-shaped pan for our Valentine's Day dinner. There was only a little bit left over.

Mac and cheese sprinkled with plenty of black pepper and red pepper flakes is delicious.

I haven't had mac and cheese in a while. Usually I only nibble at pasta.

Spaghetti and meatballs is usually my default dish when I'm trying out a new Italian restaurant.

I love meatballs! I don't know why. We used to have them without sauce at home, so I would experiment with different dips - ketchup, mayo, thousand island dressing, mustard, honey mustard, BBQ sauce, gravy, curry...

The Thousand Islands is an archipelago that actually includes over 1800 small islands.

The Hundred Islands in the Philippines is where Blaze and I got stranded during a storm.

How did you get stranded there?

We wanted to go on vacation, but went during monsoon season. When we set out the skies were overcast, and then the rain started.

Bathing in the rain... can be pretty painful

When I was about 14, I wrote a corny little poem called "I Love the Rain". It started "I love the rain, I really do. The sky is grey where once was blue."

When I was younger I used to be fascinated by the different Crayola crayon colors. I still am, though not as much.

I still have a 64 box of Crayolas on my shelf, just in case I have a coloring emergency.

Does anyone else remember this when they were kids?

Wow. Never seen that before. Did it blow up in Crayola's face?
