I have long since given up soda. My belly has shrunk because of that, but I still have a ways to go to get six pack abs.

I only drink the diet kind. As for six-pack abs, not in this lifetime. shrug

Some people find six pack abs beautiful. But then some people also say they want huggable men with a bit of tummy.

Why have a six-pack when you can have a keg?

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Rocky.

And I do drink diet soda a lot (no Power Girl JLE jokes, please.)

I would prefer it if diet soda sweetened with sucralose (Splenda) were more common. It's my preferred low-calorie sweetener. I especially dislike saccharin. I can't stand its aftertaste.

I have weaned myself off artificial sweeteners, but I do agree that some sweetness can make a drink taste much better.

I've just started my first diet this week. Luckily I wasn't a soft drinks person anyway, so that's something I won;t miss.

There is no proof that Martin Luther said "Here I stand, I can do no other. God help me. Amen," when he stood before the Diet of Worms in 1521.

That's true, but too much soda could cause me problems later in life.

I've never cared for gummi anything. Pretty much the only candy I'll eat is chocolate.

That's good planning - typed stunned by such good forethought.

My folks weren't interested in fast food or sodas when I was growing up, so I've handily picked that up from them. Or at least I did until I crept away from having my veggies, hence diet. I do have a sweet tooth, but not in huge quantities.

There's a lot of protein in worms. Crunchy too.

Same here.

Laura Holt, played by Stephanie Zimbalist on "Remington Steele", turned out to have a thing for chocolate in the episode "Steele Sweet on You."

That was a great show. I had quite a crush on Pierce Brosnan back then, though I liked him less as James Bond.
