I hope no one minds, but I'm posting a seperate thread for the preview. In my mind it will be better to have discussion of the two split off.

A young sentient (non-humaniod) watches sadly as his parental unit destroys his Legion memoribilia.

A discussion program wheighs the pros and cons of the Legion as a disruption to society athough one panelist makes mention of several benificial deeds done by the group.

A young couple are at Makeout Point (of Space) until the boy realizes his date is a Legionist. He's heard they control your mind (or something) and thus ends the makeout session.

A young man writes in his journal of his decision to leave home and throw in with the Legion. His parents enter his room and try to stave off his interest in the Legion, though they are unaware of his intentions to leave. His father grounds him but after they leave his room he goes out on the ledge of his window upon high and leaps out into the open sky yearning to be free...

His parents reenter the room to discover their son, Lyle, has seemingly disappeared. The young man plummets downward but dons a very familiar ring. He is soon joined by a group of colorfully clad young people and they leave together.

The last page is a full page shot of the team arcing upward. The members shown are (using the traditional codenames until we know different):

Also two pairs of boots are at the top of the page. I assume one pair is Ultra Boy.

The brief story mostly focuses on getting the point across that the Legion are seen as a threat to the norms of what seems to be a society which is intrusive to the point of being ominous. Genetic engineering seems to be a common practice and overall I'm left with the impression that this society is not very distinct from the one featured in the "Superboy's Legion" Elseworld.

The art is quite good by Kitson. The costumes are a mostly updates of traditional uniforms (can you say bellbottoms) with a few more independent of past designs, specifically Element Lad's.

I have to say that aside from the fact that I still have no real feeling that a reboot is/was needed I am quite looking forward to this.

So Matt, are the pages we've seen this week in the Waid interview from the preview?

Sorry, meant to mention but no they are not. We haven't seen any of them before now I believe.

hmmmm.... interesting. The reboot era followed fairly closely, the order or membership from the preboot. This preview would seem to indicate that Lyle is now instead the 19th members, instead of one of the earlier ones.

But other than that it's pretty close to the Adventure era group omitting Matter-Eater Lad, Bouncing Boy, Ferro Lad, Mon-El and the Super Cousins. I hope Chuck and Tenz aren't being written off in the rereboot. That'll kind of take a little of the shine off this version.

There's no assurances that the others joined in the order I listed, of course. I was just trying to put them in Adv. order for my own amusement and probably am way off.

I would have to say the Kitson's work has never looked better and that he and mark have put alot of thought into this version of the future.

I would have to say that I like most of the new outfits and that the are pretty good updates of the classic looks. Star Boy is really cool. And I cant wait to see Dreamy and Projectas outfits up close.

I would have to say that I did feel inspired by the end of the tale. And that from the glimpse I have seen why this future needs a Legion. Maybe b/c I was anticipating the book but it is a real good start.

It more or less follows the Cockrum suit in it's broadest sense. The "lightning bolts" are glowing yellow, but not crackly if you follow. No orange pants, no cape. There are no fewer than 6 capes present though. Cool.

Oh, and both Lightning Lad's arms appear to be intact Scott.

I agree with Scott. We fellow at work need one of you fine fellow to please post the group pic ASAP.

Emmm, Saturn Girl looks like a pretty trad version of the Adventure suit with a belt that looks more like Garths Adv belt with the puffy looking lining. Cos has the four round spots on his chest but the don't look metallic. Star Boy has a black starfield part around the torso maybe the arms, the rest white. KK also looks to have a darker skin tone than previously. His Uni follow the old school PJ look. Violet has green in her uni but she's in the background and hard to see. That's all I can remember off-hand.

But I thought it was because great minds think alike!

I really -love- Tinya's new look. Everyone looks pretty good, though I'm still not sold on Shadow Lass.

I'm going to have to ask Dean Lee to review Sun Boy's hair helmet.

Garth! Yes! I love the outfit, even without a cape.

Starboy looks good. I've always liked the starfield look and when it appears to be more camoflage, like this (blends into an actual starfield), it is even better.

Tinya in bell-bottoms again is great. I still love that look.

Imra with a cape? She never had one before. Don't think I like it on her. Doesn't fit with the character.

Kinda like the old/new versions of Triad/Triplicate girl combined together.

What's up with Nura's outfit? I'd like a closer look at her uniform.

Dirk. Hmm. How to say this nicely. He doesn't appear to be a lady's man anymore. Very Prince Valiant look going on.

oh my! i like the feeling--very inspiring, uplifting, heroic... but i really don't like some of the costumes. there's some awkward mixing of eras that just don't quite work. Phantom Girl's bell bottom's and "P" insignia (w/ brown hair?), Saturn Girl in her post-boot plus cape (is that the classic red i see?), Triad (is it triplicate girl?) also in her post-boot with a clunky cape? Lightning Lad looks a little too much like Black Lightning for my tastes. the Cockrum version is better. i am sad to see Shadow Lass with the pale skin again. why the change from blue? Invisible Kid with no headband? GASP!
i think that Light Lass and Star Boy have the strongest designs so far. i wonder if Ayla and Garth are twins in this future?

You saying he looks gay, Scott? That would be cool. Sun Boy and Invisi Kid. I like it.
