I find it a bit interesting that Indian Lad, who is one of our youngest powers, prefers the Silver Age-y names! I know Reboot and I share a preference for the one-word SW6 names.

I don't dislike the boy/girl/lad/lass names, but in general I prefer the SW6/Postboot-era names. Part of it is familiarity, part of it is the cleverness. Umbra, for example, is the darkest part of the shadow. Chameleon Boy and Ferro Lad are a tad redundant, so why not just drop the "Boy" and "Lad"?

Heh, I remember when someone on the CBR forums once called me a "nostalgia fanwanker". Ever since then, I've come to embrace that identity as it's pretty fitting of my overly sentimental/nostalgic sentiments when it comes to my fandoms. tongue

Even better than reveling in nostalgia, is being nostalgic about the times you reveled in nostalgia. Ah, those were the days when reveling was reveling...

I have a friend who performs in the Christmas Revels every year. I'll have to see it one of these years.

I dislike performing at Christmas parties. Mostly because I'm not very good.

I was put on the spot at my piano teacher's Christmas party once and had to play for the other guests. It was very awkward because I couldnt refuse to play in front of them.

My mom used to make me sing for relatives all the time. Thankfully, I'm not very good so it stopped after a couple of years.

I led the caroling group at our staff holiday party this year. Of course, tonight is one of our choir's biggest nights of the year.

As a kid, I'd get pushed by teachers into doing recitals etc. But as soon as I had any say in it, it stopped. I don't think I've joined anything since (with the exception of you lovely folks.)

It's not childhood trauma. It's more that I've never listened to anyone talk about a club without it being an ego trip/ bitching session/ bid for power over a personal mini-fiefdom of a stamp collecting club. I have work for that, why would I want to put up with it in my free time?

Gosh, I do hope Rocky's big night doesn't tire him out too much to post to the this thread tomorrow. Why, that would mean I'd have a chance of killing the thread...

Well it's nice to know you're looking out for the thread's longevity Ann. Let's hope you can post again to reinforce that. wink

We sang that, Tracker, along with a lot of others. We also sang the SATB setting of Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols. If over the next few days, someone hears me singing "Adam lay ibounden, bounden in a bond, four thousand winter thought he not too long," just ignore me. smile

That's almost as much binding as in an early Wonder Woman comic!

It's a trust issue. Personally, I find being put into the boot of the car and being taken to the quarry a bit of a deal breaker. Another three or four times, and I'm going to start questioning my relationship... wink

See, that's why dogs are better than humans.

If you put your best friend and your dog in the trunk/boot of the car and come back nine hours later, which one is going to be happy to see you? wink

I think it depends if any air can get in there? It could be that none of them are very responsive to you opening the boot. Being dedded and all.

It also depends on how into bondage your best friend is.
