I'd not say "good" threat. "Effective" or "persuasive" are words I'd use. wink

I missed a night out at a favourite pub/eaty place on Friday because:-

a) I have another hobby that has meetings on a Friday night.
b) I was already going to another night out/eaty place.
c) I was having guests round to my home for drinks/ eaty things.
d) Friday night is comics reading night.
e) I had to collect people from the airport due to bad weather.
f) I chose to go home because of bad weather
g) I didn't like the person/ people at the night out.

Got it in one. Both trains* & buses were down. Buses came on late in the afternoon, but the timetables for the ones that get me closest to home have an early cut off time.

There are other buses, but it would mean going well out of my way, and after a few drinks in a storm, well...

*I think they just wanted to get as organised as possible for the engineering works they were shutting the whole thing down for on Saturday anyway.

It's always nicer guessing than coming up with questions, so over to you Ibby!

I have a cousin who just loves fish and chips. Says that's all he'll ever eat if he ever visits the UK.

No, wait, that's not the question...

Say, why does my home smell like fried, battered fish all of a sudden? (and no, that's not the game question yet!)

Are phone calls not enough? Skype not giving you that "being there" feeling? Try TeleSmell!

It's new from thothInc. That's right, the guys who gave you Tell-It-Like-It-Is Wonderlassos.

TeleSmell! Letting you share all your senses with the people you love!

thothInc. Helping Titanian refugees since v6.

Does this meat smell off to you?

Hey! Can you smell gas? Oh, beans for dinner again

Do you like strawberries? They taste like this.

Just some of the many ways to use telesmell, from thothInc

I'll go with 3) and all down to you scaring Blaze into thinking that the cord could turn out to be Elastic Lad at any moment.

And Blaze doesn't like freckled redheads either, so that would not have been exciting for him.

But we did 3. I went first because I am heavier. He was so cute when he was yelling at the top of his lungs.

We have done that in quite a few Southeast Asian countries. We cannot do that here at home because, well, it's a secret... so we make up for it abroad where people do not know us.
