Yeah, it is a silly superhero name--but then so are most other superhero names.

I think the value of names such as "Submariner" is that they teach kids to look up words or ask what they mean. And the logo on his comic looked pretty cool, with "Sub-" being on a line above the rest.

That is true. Superhero names taught me words such as Pariah and Quark.

Umbra, on the other hand, I learned from reading science books first; Gossamer from reading children's story books, and Apparition from reading books about ghosts. That may be one reason why I appreciated those code names from the get-go.

Umbra was a name considered for Obsidian in early drafts of Infinity, Inc. It was also the villain in the '80s cartoon Mighty Orbots. Two more reasons I prefer the name Shadow Lass. grin

Yeah. I really miss him. The Infinitors always got a raw deal. First the Crisis changed their reality and origin and they got cancelled. Then they are all either forgotten are badly mistreated. Then they finally come into their own in the JSA books. Then the New 52. Blecch!

I miss Todd and Damon. I also miss Rick and Jessie. For that matter, I miss Ralph and Sue and I miss Clark and Lois as a couple. Happy couples exist in real life. They can exist in comics, too!

Silly Rocky, everyone knows DC comics has become IP comics these days. The only thing that matters to WB is that these characters be profitable for movies and TV shows, the source material and comic fans be damned.

I liked the first two seasons of Arrow, but this season has been pretty boring so far. The Flash show hasn't really appealed to me even though I am a huge Flash fan.
