The Legion is in a weird position at DC. While Vertigo books have the advantage of touching the DC Universe when appropriate, the rest of the DCU is expected to be connected. In the past, this connection could be tangential, flimsy or flexible. As comics progressed, and crossovers began increasing sales, shared continuities tightened and more distant books like Legion - existing 1000 years in the future - were left in an odd place relating to the DC Universe.

It's hard work trying to get the Legion to crossover nowadays. You just won't see the DC Comics Presents Superman & The LSH or Brave & the Bold Presents Batman & The LSH (or even Batman & Karate Kid). (And, thankfully, many of us have these issues!)

Now Mark Waid (our current Legion scribe) is taking over a new Brave & The Bold. If Legion could team-up with anyone at DC, who would it be?

MORE NOTES:
* Since there would have to be time travel involved, don't let current times determine your choices.
* "Classic" indicates the 1st iteration of the team, "current" denotes latest incarnation.
* Aimed for as broad a list as possible, but obviously I'm not gonna get everything - apologies in advance.
* Arbitrarily chose a cut-off of 10 to get some kind of ranking for the results.

My "other" Marvel team would be Generation X 'cause I think the Legion would laugh at them. A lot. A looooooot.

Hell, I laugh at them. lol

I'll have to think about it, but my initial response is that I don't want them to team up with anyone from the past, ever. The more interaction they have with present day DCU, the more likely it seems we'll get the short end of the stick in the next company-wide crossover reboot thing. The Legion survived this one because the Legion series supposedly happens after the changes caused by Infinite Crisis. But I don't look forward to the next Superboy-revealed-to-be-fake-and-dies or Zero Hour-type event where anything Waid and Kitson manage to create will get altered through no plan of theirs, but due to some other writer on another comic I don't even read.

But yeah, I do miss some of the old team-ups...

I couldnt see how a Cockrum drawn Imperial Guard/Legion showdown could hurt....it'd be like comparing the Adult Legion with the SW6 clones

Same with an Avengers/JLA team-up

My others: Question #2, I would choose Gen 13, or Stormwatch (I didn't see it), which I guess I would choose the classic version

#3: Raven from Titans

#4: Poison Ivy

#5: Generation X

Some thoughts: great idea for a poll, Andy!

For teams they could team up with, I have to admit that I had trouble picking 10 teams, which was very surprising. It just feels with DC's wealth of teams, I should have been more enthsiastic with more, but I just don't have the inkling to see history re-tread (JLA excluded).

The heroes was fun, and I noticed that I couldn't help but want my Silver Age heroes (GL, Flash, Atom, Hawkman and Adam Strange) to team up with them, as well as Batman, even though he's overdone as it is these days. But I like the idea of a Batman/LSH team-up. And I think a Dr. Fate/LSH team-up would be cool!

I also noticed that I want the villains to be much more Legion-level in how big a threat they are, so I picked Eclipso, the Crime Syndicate, Black Adam's group (really, one of the coolest things in the current DCU), etc. Just for the hell of it, I added Deathstroke. I also picked 'Other', b/c I think Flash's Rogues Gallery would be a good choice.

For Marvel, I selected "Other" for a vote for the Inhumans. I also noticed I picked all classic teams for Marvel, whether classic Avengers of the Silver Age or classic New Warriors of the 80's. The lone exception is Young Avengers.

The last question would be a nightmare! I detest Marvel characters and would never buy any DC title that featured them. Yuck!! Ptooo! That is why I responded "other" and made no other selection.

I would like to see the LSH run into an Omega Men from their century. That would be cool. And for villians I would like to see the Manhunters. Bad robots, bad! I'd like to see more supernatrual stuff. That's why i voted for the Demon, Swamp Thing, and Constantine.

My top vote for Marvel team up would be Young Avengers...but after most of the next wave of Young Avengers have been found. Hell, it seemed like there was 20 or so potential Young Avengers in the Vision's failsafe program...sounds like a "Legion of Super Heroes" to me.

My other on the Marvel question...Runaways! The fact that they come off as cool and hip (by 2005 Marvel standards, that is) and the Legion is retro (by 2005 DC standards) would, to me, make for some very interesting character interactions. I can see Gert smirking at them now.

Well we've got to have Dr. Fate now that Mordru has been ret-conned as Nabu's nemesis in JSA.
