I agree here. Everything from Hawks to Hot Fuzz he's added quality to. Behind the downbeat premise, Hawks is a funny film, for anyone who hasn't seen it. Anthony Edwards is the other co star.



It's previous successes going to their heads. After Coffeyville one was planning to rob the Baxter Springs bank from a high wire attached to the water tower across the street, while the other robbed an Independence bank with a herd of trained elephants.

It sounds like they were watching too many Looney Tunes cartoons. Trained elephants! They should have gone for something more subtle, like trained bunny rabbits.

As I mentioned in another thread, last evening I attended a party with an African safari theme. There were cardboard cutouts of animals, which included a tiger and an Asian elephant.

I already read Rocky's post in that other thread.

Samuel Johnson referred to puns as "the lowest form of wit", which Henry Erskine replied that they were "the foundation of all wit."

To be fair, some puns can be very witty indeed.

I love puns. I'm not as much of a punster as I was when I was younger, but I still love them.

I'm not much of a punster either. Or much of a punter, for that matter.

Snoopy was secretly The Mad Punter.

Charlie Brown did know. That's one of the reasons he despaired so.

Making up for it...

Charlie. Brown loves his dog. Despite all the weirdness.

He on occasion sighs "Why can't I have a normal dog like everyone else?", but Charlie Brown and Snoopy true love each other. Even if Snoopy can't remember his name and calls him "The round-headed kid."

Snoopy is almost always grateful when the dog food comes though.

Although Snoopy's rich fantasy life was obviously fiction, his independent streak, stubbornness, and obsession with food are all very typical beagle behaviors.

My dachshund and my shih tzu would say that other dog breeds share the same behaviors.

While that is true of many dogs, those are particularly true of beagles. Beagz and I were trading stories once and I think he referred to "Peanuts" as a documentary on beagle behavior.

Scooby-Doo's behavior should not be taken as representative of any type of dog.
