Another interview at Comic Book Resources with two new pages from issue #29. Looks like the guys are going out with a bang.

Especially the twice a month bit. More Legion is always a good thing. And thanks, TC, for the new link!

I posted over at TnT's board last night and Tom was kind enough to answer: We are going to be leaving with the rest of the creative team with #33. As for the squad that's going to be coming in, I'm afraid I've only heard rumors so I can't really add anything of substance to the speculation. The LEGION fans have been amazing. This was my first big comics job and it's been so cool to get to meet so many people that love the LEGION so much and have been really nice to me. You are all so pasionate about the LEGION is made it even more fun than I ever imagined. Thanks for letting us play with your toys. Alec, or as he is known on the boards rhino NYC, you in particular have been a real treat to get to know. I hope you'll keep in touch.
As for what's next, Tony and I are already at work on a new MONTHLY series for Wildstorm called Ex-Machina , written by Brian K. Vaughn. Tony's going to be doing all the pencilling this time and I'll be inking. Our own JD Mettler, who colored the cover to LEGION #24 will be whipping ass on coloring. Somwhere in the middle of this Tony and I are preparing for a special project we'll tell you about later.
Thanks again, Tom

Whoever inherits the Legion now gets a comic in better shape than DnA did when they took it over. It reminds me of when a team finishes in last place, fires the coach, and he makes the team respectable before he is fired himself and replaced with someone who's supposed to take the team "all the way."
Of course, the Legion situation doesn't exactly parallel the above scenario since DnA left of their own free will, but similarities are there.
My powers are Legion!

Okay, according to those new pages Bruce lost his parents in 1978. Sprockin' Hell! I'm older than Batman now!
After seeing these few pages it makes it even harder to think we may be losing Chris too. The images of the 'new' Zero Hour are great.

Timeline floats, but if we say its 3 years since ZH, that's 10 + 3 years after year 1, which makes him 10 + 3 + 25 = 38 now.
Hence, 1965 would have been a better "fixed" date to pick...

Nothing against Kitson, and I would love to see him on any 2nd Legion book, but I would REALLY prefer to have Batista & Wallace remain as the artistic team on the main book. Anyone up for a letter writing campaign?

Still after all their effort it would have be respectful and probably ulitmately wise, to let them leave on their own terms. I would like to have let them have their three more issues.

What I get for posting at work. Reading too fast, thought it said 1968. 196 5 is okay by me too. Somebody tell DC.

Actually, with Zoë off in the Kwai Galaxy, this'll mean she stays Broken-Interlac Girl, won't it, unless the new writer reverts her?
Just a thought.

I've really enjoyed most of what DnA have done with the Legion, but as sub-plots, inconsistencies and hanging threads began to flower like weeds over the past year I'm ready for a new creative team. Would you want somebody working for you who has lost interest and run out of steam (no matter how wonderful they were when they first started the job)? Knowing their love of twists and shock endings, I hope they won't be allowed to do too much irreparable damage before they go. Why do I have the feeling that Luornu is going to lose one of her bodies to Darkseid?

Just another random thought.
Doesn't Kitson normally do his own covers? Could that be why we've also lost TnT?

I like this development.
Don't get me wrong, I certainly admired DnA's work on the title; And Batista does excellent work too. (I have modelled several of my custom action figures based on their work. I can't think of any higher praise than that for me to give these guys.)
But I am looking forward to a different perspective coming in. I'm not too familiar with Kitson's work, but I stopped by his website, and I was thoroughly impressed. I've also enjoyed alot of Waid's work over the years too. All in all, I don't think The Legion is moving in a wrong direction.
I'd like to give a big thanks to DnA, TnT, Batista, Coipel, and the other creators who have guided The Legion through the past five years.

I for one am hurt.....i'm sure it will pass, but thanks to DnA, Legion became my flagship title again. Used to be that I read all of my Superman titles first, then I would read Legion. Five years ago all of that changed. The Legion became the book that I couldn't wait to read each month. I hadn't been like that since I was 8 reading the Baxter issues in the eighties. I hope Waid can continue with the action sci-fi and plot twists that I have come to expect every month....waitaminute......IT'S FREAKIN' MARK WAID!!!!! what am I worried about?

well i suppose we had to expect this eventually !!! although, i seem to remember reading in an interview that DnA had stories plotted up to issue #50 !!!???
i think the hardest part of this news for me, is that they are the team that propelled my interest in "The Legion" to the most it's ever been !!! [ although i do think a BIG factor was, they were on the title and in the middle of "LEGION LOST" when i first joined the "DC Message Boards", and all you guy's talking about the LEGION every day, made me love them even more !!! and this made me so excited for each months adventures ..... ]
so in hearing they were leaving, filled me with dread at first !!!
who was going to replace them ???
what would happen to my favourite characters ???
would there be any major changes ???
but as the interview says, that had started to run out of stories !!! and they had written almost ...... 60 issues !!!!! that's pretty amazing, really !!! in the comics industry, right now !!!!
i think we should be proud of their work on the LEGION !!!! and i wish them well, on their next project .....
Matthew.

i hope the news that MARK WAID is going to be the new writer .... is true !!!
i've enjoyed all his "DC" work !!!
"Kingdom Come", "JLA: Year One", "The Flash", "JLA" and his current book, "Superman: Birthright" which i'm really enjoying !!!
and he did start the reboot, so in a way, it's "coming home" for him !!!
i think he'll be great !!!
i'll have to go read his section in the "LEGION COMPANION" ...... so what he says ....
Matthew.
