I recommend drinking warm tea before sleeping. That's what most people who have trouble sleeping do that I know.

I recommend drinking warm tea before sleeping. That's what most people who have trouble sleeping do that I know. But I only have English Breakfast, and you can't have that in the Evening! It implies that in the title! Bad things would happen if you took it even as late as Tiffin. I've strange flavoured tea, but I didn't buy them and have consigned them to my mental, if not physical, dustbin. Cinnamon and Cherry and things like that. I do drink a fair bit of caffeine, just not in barrista service concentrations, and I've never had any issues dropping off. I'm still a bit of a night owl too, but the lack of sleep is manageable. As long as I don't start rambling posts about trivial thing...ah, hell...

... met a really cool American backpacker. We talked about our respective independence days and he posited that one reason American kids get so excited about the 4th of July is because of the fireworks. In contrast, very few people in the Philippines get excited about our Independence Day. Instead, we use the day to travel or sleep in.

Plus, great BBQ during the the 4th of July is why we get excited!

I'm so envious! Halloween is another American holiday I would love to experience. The most festive holidays in the Philippines are the Christmas-New Year season and Holy Week. We also have some fun, cray-wild religious festivals which some people use as an excuse to party and get drunk - Dinagyang, Masskara, Ati-Atihan, Panagbenga, Sinulog.

... decided to make an "Eggy in a Basket" for breakfast after having re-watched the film version of "V for Vendetta" the other night.
In the movie, Evey Hammond claims it's delicious, but - meh - I found it a bit plain and boring. Then again, hers was made with butter stolen from a high ranking government official. Perhaps that's the secret ingredient.
Must investigate this theory...

Ex, LOL. IL, thank you. I didn't get any more sleep, but the sleeplessness did give me enough spare time to re-read Phil Jimenez's excellent mid-90s Tempest mini-series.

... I managed to fall asleep during Alien 2, the Italian horror flick. It's Alien in a cave system. Quite decently shot, I was thinking before the zzzzzs hit.
Now I've read Ex's post and I'm thinking about making French Toast.
