Woke up early, decided to head up to De'troit and go to the outdoor market. A beautiful early Autumn drive. Crisp air. Woody smell. Going to be a colorful one this year. Drive around town a bit and stopped at an interesting looking local neighborhood restaurant. Got that "you stupid" look from about five people when I asked if that was fried chicken wings I was seeing on top of the waffles. All in good fun. I got an order to go along with some of the best sex ever baked into a cheesecake. Overall good day trip. Some Amish (I don't think they were real Amish) had a booth at the market, selling large $9 pies. Got one for the neighbors. Some oatmeal cookies. Two $5 leather belts, should be good for the one or two days a year I wear a formal belt. $8 bottle of German red wine. Let a pretty girl talk me into an $8 box of honey sweets (special today, free honey bar with every purchase). I don't know if she was serious or putting on fun but she was doing the whole 1950s wife got a job exaggerated motioin, put on voice, sales schtick. I was loving it. Did I mention she was a looker? Another group set up one of those infomercial type sales pitches for a lobster cookbook, pickles and chips which came with free samples. I'm talking free LOBSTER sandwiches and chips. Tiny but oh so good. Lots of flowers and veggies of course. Detroit has pretty low meat prices but I didn't get any. Saw some amusing t-shirts. Detroit proud of it's reputation, even the grimier side. Saw some "dead wear." Zombie stuff. My favorite, was a blank white square except for a red bulls-eye on a black shirt where you could draw your own zombie. I laughed. Wonder if that's a local product. I looked it up. OMG, this is SO FUNNY!!! Bedsheet Overall a good morning in Detroit and back home in time to watch football.

Sounds like a wonderful day, BB. Glad you had so much fun. Thanks. Thinking of heading up there again next weekend (or at least somewhere), if weather's good. Should be able to pick up some great Halloween gifts from one of their shops. I've got my eye on that zombie cookie jar, "Brains, Brains, BRAINS!!!!" lol Today got a little jogging in and shared some of the goodies with the neighbors.

I took a sick day today and slept most of the day away. I dreamed that Postboot Legion continuity had changed -
Legion membership was now in this order:
Cosmic Boy, Live Wire, Saturn Girl Apparition, Triad Leviathan, XS, Chameleon, Invisible Kid, Brainiac 5, Spark, Kinetix, Violet Andromeda, Element Lad and Gates
The last three were introduced to the Legion during RJ Brande's birthday party.
RJ Brande had a white dog called Krypto. In Gates' first appearance, he picked up the dog and said, "You ate the cake!" Gates opened his mouth wide, and Triad hit him on the head with a newspaper because she thought he was going to eat Krypto.
And then they got called into battle against some ships firing missiles, and then I woke up.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! I love Triad hitting Gates on the head with a newspaper!
"Bad Gates!" Thanks, EDE! Now I should write a scene with this in my fic! Funny, it just seems so like Triad.

...realized a few hours after making the above post that my scattiness and inability to focus was probably due to too much caffeine, which is also probably what's keeping me up so late.

LOL
As a matter of fact, it is. I feel that, for my general well-being, I have to make an effort to get a good night's sleep. I usually have no problem doing it, but...well...that Dr. Pepper looked awfully tempting, and...

I don't think I've had a regular sleep pattern since the summer. Even then, I usually slept from about 2 A.M. to 10 A.M.

Yeah, but you're young. Your body can recover from that. When I was your age, I was pulling all-nighters all the time.
But now I'm more than twice as old as you, and I'm incapable of pulling an all-nighter without serious damage to my overall state.
