It's only been open 4 days so the whole town was there. But hey, don't you hang out at Hipster Trade? wink

Let me know when you find out--because I'm not completely sure myself! lol

Depends on which source we wanna follow:

Merriam Webster says "a person who follows the latest styles, fashions, etc. : a hip person"

Kinda funny that the term "hip" has been resurrected now to mean "cool" again. I used to hate when Snapper Carr would use that word, because I don't find him "hip" at all.

Urban Dictionary says a mouthful! "Hipsters are a subculture of men and women typically in their 20's and 30's that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter."

And a more reliable source, Dictionary.com, goes "a person, especially during the 1950s, characterized by a particularly strong sense of alienation from most established social activities and relationships.".

So hipster can be taken to mean someone who follows the latest cool trends, and can also mean someone who eschews the mainstream in favor of more "unique" subcultures. But what happens when those subcultures become mainstream, I don't know. And now my head hurts.

...went into a local comic shop. They had already cleared the bookcases ahead of Wednesday comic day.

This is the first time I've seen this, which is a reason I was never too aware of Wednesday being the new day for a long time.

I guess they used to do it after closing time, as I can;t imagine I've never been in at that time before. Having said that, when I was in last week on the Wednesday, they didn't have the comic I went in for, even though it was out!

... read comics on the train home.

The back issue selection isn't very good.

I know how you feel. I used to worry about test scores all the time back in the day.
