Eryk Davis Ester is correct! Doctor Sivana eagerly lets his daughter join in his quest to conquer the universe.

While were on the topic of characters from the Golden Age:
Harvey Comics' Shock Gibson shares a similar origin with what later, and much more famous, character?

Lardy has it! One of the earliest comic super-heroes, Shock Gibson became a "human dynamo" when a random bolt of lightning struck chemicals in his laboratory! Much like Barry Allen! His origin can be read here! Later on, he fights Zombies!

Now that's a proper villain! Mountain lair, death rays, zombies lions, volcanoes and self destruction levers!
One page shortly after he reveals his powers even uses "like a flash"
"...not having to believe in a thing to be interested in it and not having to explain a thing to appreciate the wonder of it."

I love the fact that the villain has numbered death rays!
"Hmm... shall I use Death Ray No. 4 or Death Ray No. 5 today? It's so hard to decide!"

Gah! I forgot to put that in. They went up to at least 10. Because even a deranged genius should have a death ray to suit every mood. They come in different colours and emit a variety of fragrances as they obliterate their targets.

I suppose it depends on what kind of evil mood he's in!

Wow--that was a TOTAL guess! Never heard of the character, but 'Shock' made me think of lightning. So I threw Barry out there! I'll try to think of something soon....

I haven't forgotten this, guys. I have a question in mind, but I have a little research to do first! (When I can get to it.....)

Still haven't forgotten, but there's been insufficient time to research. Look for the question in less than a week.

Is it death ray number six for tardiness?

Okay, I've never gotten around to researching the question I wanted to ask, so instead of keeping this thread in limbo any longer, I'll ask another one instead. A bit of warning....this may come off as more of a "Know your Legion Worlders"-appropriate question, but this is all I got right now: In my three-decades-plus of comics reading, there are still a handful of monumental, gotta-read-it storylines I've never gotten around to reading. As of today, I will soon finally be able to cross one of these off of my "bucket list" because I now have it in my hands via a bargain on eBay. (Assuming it doesn't spontaneously combust or meet some other dubious fate in the interim when I get up the nerve to actually read it!) This is a classic storyline published by one of the Big Two and not at all obscure. Sharp-eyed, sharp-memoried, long-time posters will know I've discussed this as one of the holes in my comics reading history in discussions on the general topic. If need be, I'll provide hints as I go. Good luck and thanks for indulging me!

Crisis on Infinite Earths?
Keep up with what I've been watching lately! "Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you."

These are "monumental, gotta-read-it storylines"?!? How many other series have giant Koala Bear villains? How many others have Jonni DC: Continuity Cop cleaning up the multiverse? What do you mean "that's with good reason"? What was that serial killer one DC put out? Where the villain would capture the limbs of super heroes? Leg Ends? Hi! I'm Jonni DC: Continuity Cop! Poor thothkins is trapped on a DC Earth where grim and gritty got even more out of hand. He means Legends. Now I have to find Mr Mxyzptlk an get his to stop using his Earth-2 name Mr Mxyztplk.

The Original Galactus Trilogy? Yep! That's the one! I wonder if it was a random guess or if you may have read one of my old posts mentioning it, and it was tickling the back of your brain? In any case, it's your turn, and I predict there's a 75% chance your question will in some way involve Dr. Light!
