In Legion of super heroes number 6 this year Sun Boy shows he can emit heat at plasma level, and Cosmic Boy can(with "a litle" help)contain him. Dosn`t this seam like a lot of power for two of the god guys to have?

Not in my opinion. Something else else needs to set them apart from other teens especially Cos. Also making them so powerful also adds to young/cocky thing. Imagine being that young and powerful. You'd tell the UP to kiss your grits too! Seriously I like them powerful. I didn't like Element Lad's new limits infact.

One of the things I like about this is the way it was written so that neither Cos nor Sunboy can be this powerful in battle conditions. They have the power but need Lab conditions to control and use the power, and it leaves them drained. In combat they cant use such power levels which leaves them challenged and in danger from the villains. At least I hope this is the intention. I like the fact that the legion is not so super powerful that no one is a threat and as a result the Legion has to work together as a team to get a victory.

That's a good point, that they can't really let loose with their powers outside of controlled conditions. Maybe they could in outer space? (Although we haven't seen if they have something like transsuits yet.)
Sun Boy & Cos are shown to have a good understanding of their powers, or at least how to use them effectively. According to Brainy, that's not the case with Light Lass and Star Boy, who, he alleges, have extremely potent and untapped/underexploited abilities. Star Boy's been portrayed as a bit of a doofus so far, but I wonder if Ayla doesn't have a lot better mastery of her power than she's let on.
You'd think these four could easily have overcome those evil landscapers, Terror Firma, but perhaps they are more cautious of the negative, destructive consequences of using their powers and therefore always holding back.

You're welcome. If WaK Legion is following previous origins, Light Lass might be very new to her abilites, so she might not know what she can do. I wonder which members have had thier powers for awhile and which are still getting used to them. Projectra's are new, of course. Ultra Boy doesn't seem to know much about his yet, either. Brainy and Nura were probably born with their's (if you call high intelligence a power).

I think Lightning Hussy was written off as using her powers for parlour tricks.
