... took a road trip with my wife to check out the recently reopened Frank Frazetta museum.

I imagine most people here already know who Frazetta is but, if not, he was the artist responsible for some of the most iconic fantasy art of the 60's and 70's (Conan, The Death Dealer, Vampirella, etc.) Housed in the late artist's home in Stroudsburg PA, the museum is actually run by his son Frank Jr. and his daughter-in-law, Lori.

While - of course - it was so freaking cool to see so many amazing fantasy paintings live and up close, the real treat was listening to Frank Jr. and his wife tell the personal stories about Frank and his art. It's clear from the way that they spoke of him that they both loved him deeply, and I came away feeling like I had really gotten to know the man. Just a great day.

...Caught the local festival football match. Lots of goals on a nice, if cool evening.

Hope you have a super speed recovery Cleome.

...felt better, went to a resale store (not Goodwill, thankfully!) and found a decent, inexpensive pair of computer speakers. Because either my hearing's gone way downhill or the computer's sound has. (Well, we're both getting on in years, so it's likely we're both to blame.)

I bought Benem's Book of Botany and thanks to its secrets, gardening takes care of itself.

Leaving me with a couple of weekends to go back into work to help clear a mess my colleague got us into. On the plus side, I will get extra pennies which is a rarity.

It feels very odd... like I've gone to work naked or something.
