You got it!

The answer is Tanzania.

Toward the end of my extended honeymoon, my wife and I went to Kenya for a work-related conference in Kenya. When it was over, we were flying back to Perth via South Africa, but we had four days or so to kill before the flight, so we stopped over in Tanzania. Without a plan, we decided when we arrived to spend the time in Zanzibar, which was very interesting and worthwhile. On the last day, we realized too late that since it was a Sunday, there weren't as many ferries back to the mainland, so we had to charter a plane to make sure that we were in time to catch our flight back to Perth.

Sounds like a wonderful adventure, Xben! All's well as long as the final (long) flight is caught. I've missed a flight once myself, in Jakarta. Never again...

I've heard many good things about Zanzibar, and it is now firmly part of my Tanzania wishlist. Sigh, Tanzania...

Which of the following statements is correct?

a) In Chiang Mai, more people I met thought that I was Korean rather than Chinese.
b) I lost my phone in a temple in Siem Reap, Cambodia. I suspect I lost it at either Ta Prohm or at Pre Rup.
c) The skies were clear and beautiful when I tried skydiving in Guam.
d) I attended a student conference in New York and Washington DC ten years ago. My "classmates" included an Egyptian, a Ghanaian, a Nepali, a Swede and a Singaporean.
e) I bought some saffron at the souk in Dubai.
f) I met a Vietnamese local in Hanoi who took me to a restaurant where we ate rice rolls.
g) I wasn't used to the cold in Harbin. The part of my body that hurt most was my nose.
h) On a night out in West Hollywood, my friend and I tried a drink called the Brain-Eraser.
i) The janitor at our hotel in the Maldives asked to borrow my workout book.
j) After visiting Prambanan Temple near Yogyakarta, the tour driver dropped us off at a waiting shed. We were stuck because of the heavy rain.

No.In Thailand it was mostly Konnichiwas and Konbanwas that I got. Most of the greets I got were in Japanese. Then Chinese, and third Korean.

Good guessing! That is indeed correct. He asked for it while I was working out, so I told him to borrow it later in the evening. Instead, I gave him a photocopy of part of the book.

As for the others, each would be true except for one detail.

Over to you, Xben

Nope. We have our piano (an electric one), and occasionally, when I have time, I give my oldest daughter lessons on it.

Surely you can't be selling your js)? A man's got to hang on to his js) through everything. Well, so my dolly collecting friend tells me anyway as he mocks my solitary Doctor Who Zygon and Doctor Who Mummy dolly.

No. I might still have something like that back in the USA, as that was a hobby I engaged in for about 15 minutes.

I sold my Doctor Who VHS tapes a couple of years ago, I'm still holding onto my Office DVD's - but I am selling the New Krypton trades (and in fact, just did!)

IB is up again.
