21. COOKIE. Neither style is really my cup of tea, but obviously well done.
22.ETTA KETT. I don't dislike Woggon's style, but there's something that keeps me from loving it. Not only that, but the composition is boring...four people standing around, mostly facing the "camera". Etta is just OK, a default win.
23. BLACK TERROR. Cap sorta looks like his skeleton is part rubber, or that that's a figure in Madame Tussaud's Gummi Museum -- which makes me wonder why I didn't vote for him because that's awesome. But really, why's he beating up hill folk? Wasn't there more important? BT goes for classic foes, bank robbers with eye masks. Gotta respect the classics. (although there's no bad choice here.)
24. TRUE LOVE PICTORIAL. Is there EVER a bad choice in Matt Baker covers? I doubt it. Here we have 2 ambitious misses. Strawberry Blonde wants your money, but Auburn McStrapless has gotta have your ATTENTION, give it TO her! She's right up front, showing you why ONJ ripped off her look at the end of Grease.

13. Detective Comics. I like the look of the 'villain'(?). Very old school cool. 14. Sherlock Holmes. Awesome cover! 15. Kerry Drake. Would love to hear what Jim Lee would say if his art got as obscured as that. 16. Another awesome Sherlock Holmes cover. I need to check these series' out. 17. Bulletman (and Bulletgirl!) all the way baby! 18. Not a fan of either. Cliched idea. She-Hulk I guess. 19. Love a jungle story. Lois Lane. 20. Outsiders. I hate that New Teen Titans story. 21. Cookie I think. 22. Etta Kett. The other one has no action whatsoever. 23. I like the Black Terror's costume better so him. 24. True Love Pictorial. She looks bad/. 25. I do love me an over-sized figure on a cover but Big Town is just a lot more dynamic so that one. 26. Neither are very good but I'll give it to Flash because I prefer Hawkman to Green Lantern, and it looks a bit more exciting. 27. Ooh tough. I love the sort of 'futuristic ancient Greek' thing going on on both covers. It's a coin toss but All American Comics I think. 28. The much-missed Seven Soldiers of Victory?! I have to give it to them!

25. BIG TOWN. Yep, dynamic!
26. GREEN LANTERN. Where is my eye supposed to focus, Flash Comics?
27. ALLEY OOP. The pencils! The composition! The coloring! It's true A.O. doesn't have the Lambada like A.A.C., but this is the whole package.
28. FRANKIE. Look at that coloring and shading! Leading Comics has charm, but is flat in comparison.

This looks fun. I'll BRB to vote in all duels, no matter how over said duel might be!

What?!? They're never over, even if you think OMG that cover's so over.
Anyone can join in, from the beginning or from the latest group. Just include the # and the winning title for each matchup, pls.
More on the way, too.

1. Hmm, a little tough. The master of flow Cardy vs. Perez drawing a hot ginger wearing next to nothing. My weakness for nude gingers gives the edge to Perez.
2. The PLANETARY cover is much more stylistic. It's groovy!
3. That NEW MUTANTS cover looks like it could've been designed by Cardy, it wins by a mile.
4. While the miniseries cover packs a bit more of a dramatic punch, I'm giving it to the ongoing cover because reasons.

5. Doll Man's costume trumps Plastic Man.
6. I don't really care for either one, but I'll give it to the horse cover because crime doesn't neeeiiigh (or whatever a horse says)!
7. Batman's card-covered cover trumps Superman showing off.
8. That Poison Ivy cover is stunning and wins easily.

9. While I love Willingham's art, I just don't think he's a dynamic designer of cover shots, yet I don't particularly care for the Ms. Tree cover at all. I'm giving it to ELEMENTALS because Willingham art (despite lack of dynamics).
10. Not super-responding to either one, but I'll give a slight edge to DNAGENTS for being a bit more dynamic.
11. WOLRD'S FINEST farmers trumps the skotch-too-goofy CC cover.
12. Not either Lightle OR Ordway's best efforts, but a group shot wins out. I give it to INFINITY INC.

My current state of mind is making it difficult for me to examine and judge the next batch of covers with the care they deserve, so I'll be back another night to continue this. Lots of fun though!!

29. I like the interesting use of black on both covers. Target v2 is obviously a lot more dynamic but there's something goofy fun about v1 too. Hmmm I'll give it to Target v1 I think. 30. Suspense promises a lot more bang for my buck but I do love a good seance. I'll give it to Suspense I think. 31. Neither are very good but All-Flash catches my eye a bit more. 32. Captain Marvel Jr. without question. The idea might be goofy but that's probably the best art we've seen on any of the covers yet. Who is that artist again?

Mac Raboy, probably best known for these covers. He has pieces in the Smithsonian. I believe his serious style is part of the reason why so many people in the modern era prefer Freddie to Billy (I am one of those people).

29. TARGET V2. Ask me again tomorrow and I might choose V1. One's a full scene and the other isn't, one is coming at the reader and the other is drawing the reader back into the picture; both are eye-catching.
30. HOUSE OF MYSTERY. The Suspense sidebar cuts into the action.
31. ALL-FLASH.
32. CMJ.
33. X-MEN. They made the right call with this one, having the text be minimal and in the background. It emphasizes, well, the Strangeness. Avengers good too, but not like this.
34. OUT OF THIS WORLD. The pink/blue header and gray background pops.
35. BATMAN ADVENTURES.
36. THOR SON OF ASGARD. Neither one really does much for me, but they're respectable covers.
37. FLAMING CARROT. Cuz it makes me laff. Normalman also quite good.
38. FF A little dab of surreal will do ya!
39. BATMAN AND THE OUTSIDERS. I like the colors.
40. CAPTAIN MARVEL. More fun!

Bulletman ... how often has a cello been smashed on a cover? She Hulk trumps just about everything especially frickin plastic man. Lois looks like a gazelle! Outsiders ... more pathos in Geo Force.
