I've been giving this some more thought.

The Seeding of Worlds is the most important thing that's in play here. Since the current version of the LSH does not seem to derive its inspiration primarily from any specific individual, the existence of a Valor in the present-day DCU (or its recent past, or recent future) is less significant continuity-wise.

I haven't been reading 52, but I know that the Dominators have been more visible in the modern DCU lately, and we know that the Dominators in the Legion's era remember "52" in connection with something that displeased them.

Perhaps the post-Infinite Crisis Seeding of Worlds (and destruction of a major Dominion research facility) will be occuring fairly soon?

"Gee, Brainy, what do you want to do tonight?"
"The same thing we do every night, Bouncing Boy: try to take over the United Planets!!"
They're B.B. and The Brain ...

I loved the Invasion/seeding of worlds story, mainly because it artfully explained all those humanoid aliens in the Legion.

However, looking back on those stories, it's hard not to see them as a place to "put" wonderful story elements like Mon-El since they had been kicked out of the Superman mythos.

Now that we have a creative and editorial regime that wants Superman tied into the Legion, and the Legion tied constructively to the present day, I think I prefer Mon-El to be whom he was created to be -- Superman's "Big Brother."

I hope we see more of Lar in the present day DCU, and I hope eventually Superman gets to meet Lar--alive, healthy and happy--in the 31st Century. That will be an extra hanky scene, I hope.

...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"
