She was the one on my list firmly in danger after, but she would've needed a very high ranking from me to persevere, probably at the expense of Booster or someone else I liked better. I had no idea whether the other two voters might get theirs in in time, so I had to protect my most-favorites. Personally, I prefer her over Fire, but I'm content to have both my top 7 left, plus Dinah and Shayera, whom I also like but voted low or not at all for because I knew they'd be safe. I'm nervous now about getting my top 4 from the last round (Ted, Booster, Ollie and Roonie/Martin) to the top 12....
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

If the vote were called right now, I suspect that the results would be *shocking.*

I sympathize, Emily. My list was mangled pretty badly last round too. I hope there are some characters at least whom you still very much care for on your list. If the vote were called right now, I suspect that the results would be *shocking.*

I haven't taken a good look at the votes yet, but we'd probably lose a lot of Satellite Era Leaguers for the sole reason that they're the ones who tend to be on most lists. Ending in the middle of the round would deprive them of many top-ranking votes.

Yeah, Ice was pretty low on the list last round. If I had switched her place with Kimiyo on my list, she would have made it. But hindsight is always 20/20 and when I voted I couldn't have known how others would have ranked Kimiyo or Tora. I too prefer Tora over Bea, but I'm happy that Bea at least remains in the game.

Ending in the middle of the round would deprive them of many top-ranking votes. At that moment, Black Canary was in the bottom six, and her being eliminated at this point might have made heads explode, considering how she and Shayera have been trading off the top slots! But Emily swooped in and saved the day! I expect to lose my two favorites this round. Still, several fun characters strongly defined by their League membership (and not generic peeps with tons of other books that better define them, who occasionally slum it with the League) left on the list. Reddy, J'onn, Ray, Zee, Ronnie, Shayera. Good characters that would have been left in the dirt on other communities. Did we ever learn the Phantom Stranger's name? I remember the 'origin' issue for him that had four contradictory origin stories (way to keep it mysterious, DC!), but in his Swamp Thing appearances, Alan Moore seemed to go with the fallen angel interpretation, which I kind of liked. (The 'survivor of the previous universe' origin I kind of already associate that one with Galactus, so it felt less original. And the Wandering Jew one also has gotten some use in genre fiction. I don't even remember the fourth origin...)

Whew! I have been expecting to see Dinah in the Top 3 ever since, so an early elimination would definitely have made heads explode. Certainly far more surprising than Bruce and Wally last round, or Diana and Arthur a few rounds back. I agree, there are a lot of great characters left who were defined by, and in turn have defined, the League. In general the Top 40 was full of great characters. Not sure if we ever found out the Stranger's origin, but I think this (from Wikipedia) is the fourth origin you mentioned: "One proposes that the Stranger was originally a private citizen during biblical times and was spared God's wrath. An angel was sent to deliver him from divine wrath. After questioning God's actions, he commits suicide. The angel forbids his spirit from entering the afterlife, reanimates his body and condemns him to walk the world forever to be a part of humanity but also forever separated from it. He then discovered his divine charge, to turn humanity away from evil, one soul at a time. Some versions of this story imply that the angel to do this was not just a random angel but the incarnation of The Spectre of that time period.[16]" Wikipedia also mentions several other possible origins - 1) That he is Jonathan Kent, future son of Superman and Wonder Woman, from the Kingdom Come reality 2) That he is the Father of Magic, the first human with magical powers, which he stole from Lovecraftian deities And of course the Post-Flashpoint origin where he was actually Judas.

My favourite femmes very rarely need help in these games. And it's proving no different here.

And, there they go. I kinda suspected that the next vote would push both of my babies down into the kill zone. Oh, the suspense!

We still have a little more than a day before round close too! The suspense is one reason why I tally the votes all at once, instead of as they come in. (The other reason is time, and another is it's very difficult to do with just my phone!) My favourite femmes very rarely need help in these games. And it's proving no different here. I can't quite recall who your fave female Legionnaires were, but I do remember that was true for the Titans

I don't think I need to ask if you were happy with last round's results, Peebz [/quote] wellll, I like Ice John Stewart and Dr Light but ... my strategy is to vote hard! I vote for who I like, who I liked on the League and I do it to it! not everyone can be number one! but I also have a soft spot for unsung heroes or the dependable types.
