1. I'm devastated at losing Wonder Woman and (especially) Aquaman. I love pre-Crisis Aquaman and thought I'd done enough to keep him safe. 2. I'm perplexed by the love for JLU John Stewart. I thought the intelligent, compassionate, architect pre-Crisis John Stewart was a lot more interesting than the humorless, cliche, military JLU John Stewart, which of course Geoff Johns had to retcon into being the default personality of the comics John Stewart too. Another great character homogenized and blandified under hs pen. 3. Interesting that Apache Chief is the last remaining Super-Friend. He always struck me as the most interesting of the 'original' Super-Friends. It's a shame he was never seriously adapted for the comics. I think Manitou Raven was meant to be a sort of homage but he was too different to be a direct adaptation. All they needed to do was change his name and costume and he could have been a serious contender. 4. How is Etrigan still on this list? In fact, how did he get onto this list in the first place? Good character but I have no recollection of him ever being a guest-star, let alone a member, in any JL books. 5. My votes: 1. (Pre-Flashpoint) Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) 2. (Pre-Flashpoint) Atom (Ray Palmer) 3. (Pre-Flashpoint) Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) 4. (Pre-Flashpoint) Elongated Man 5. (Pre-Flashpoint) Hawkman (Katar Hol) 6. (Pre-Flashpoint) Red Tornado 7. (Pre-Flashpoint) Firestorm (Ronnie Raymond/Martin Stein) 8. (Pre-Flashpoint) Martian Manhunter 9. (Pre-Flashpoint) Zatanna 10. (Pre-Flashpoint) Batman (Bruce Wayne) 11. (Pre-Flashpoint) Flash (Barry Allen) 12. (Pre-Flashpoint) Superman

Jason Blood was a member of the League when Nightwing led a bunch of replacements while the JLA was lost in time(Obsidian Age)? Blood was the member, not Etrigan (Though of course you get both).

Been busy with work after the long weekend.
Glad you made it back this round, Quis. I think most of your Top 10 in Round 3 survived Round 4 as well. My usual Quixotic votes, mostly for non-Satellite era folks that probably can't win. Underdogs, unite!
I think I only have 2 Satellite Era Leaguers on my list as well! I hope they'll make the Top 12 at least, the Satellite Era was great but there are tons of wonderful characters whho showed up after that! Jason Blood was a member of the League when Nightwing led a bunch of replacements while the JLA was lost in time(Obsidian Age)? Blood was the member, not Etrigan (Though of course you get both).
Yup, you are correct that Obsidian Age was the name of the story. From your votes now I can see you're not about to take any more chances I wouldn't be surprised if Diana or Arthur return to the list later on... Re Apache Chief, it's also interesting that in the JLU Toon, when they introduced pastiches of the Super Friends, it was the Apache Chief homage (codename Long Shadow) who ended up joining the JLU. Did Manitou Raven ever grow? I know he was a shaman. Re JLU John Stewart, I do agree it's terrible that Johns retconned comics John to be the same personality as toon John. But I most definitely disagree that toon John was humorless. In the episode Blackest Night, he speaks with his old teacher Al McGee. They're watching Al's grandson, and the following exchange happens: Green Lantern: Looks like you got your hands full. Al McGee: He's smart, impatient, headstrong. Sort of reminds me of you. Green Lantern: I hope not. And we have him taunting Despero with: "You built a bonfire. Am I supposed to be impressed?" In The Enemy Below - [Aquaman jumps off of a jetski and onto the back of a giant killer whale, which jumps through the air and lands on a large group of soldiers before submerging.] Green Lantern: I saw it, but I still don't believe it. **************************** Batman: There's not much time. If we can't shut that down, the entire world is doomed! Green Lantern: I suppose this is a bad time to say "I told you so." Vs. Gorilla Grodd: Gorilla Grodd: People of Central City! The age of hairless, simple-minded humanity is over! Today, a new age dawns. Today, Grodd rules. [Crowd cheers] Gorilla Grodd: Humans are slow, ugly, immoral, and have an unpleasant body odor! Flash: Hey, who you calling slow?! Green Lantern: Flash, don't heckle the supervillain. Vs. Amazo: Wonder Woman: Hera help us! Green Lantern: She'd better - no one else can. When they go back in time to a Wild West polluted by Chronos: Sheriff: We're getting close. I wanna warn you, there's some downright unusual activity goin' on hereabouts; don't let it throw you. Green Lantern: Don't worry about it, we've got a lot of experience with unusu- [a cowboy riding a pterodactyl flies towards them] ...I'm sorry, you were saying? Speaking of, toon Shayera had some awesome lines too! J'onn J'onzz: Wonder Woman is on another case, Superman is dealing with an earthquake and Batman would only say that he is busy. Hawkgirl: Typical. **************** (Hawkgirl has just critically damaged an attacking ship.) Superman: Hawkgirl! Hawkgirl: What? (Superman flies off to prevent the ship from crashing.) Hawkgirl: Oh, that. And one of my favorites, from War World... Green Lantern: Relax. All we want is information about our friends. You can talk to me... [points to Hawkgirl] Or you can talk to her. [Hawkgirl slaps her mace into one hand] And the conversation leading to John and Shayera's kiss: Green Lantern: You know how we feel about each other. Shayera: John... Green Lantern: And I know you feel the same way. Shayera: It's not that simple. John, this can't go any further. Green Lantern: Why not? Shayera: Well... we work together. Green Lantern: So? Gives us something in common. Shayera: We can't be worrying about each other when we're fighting the bad guys. Green Lantern: Too late for that. What else you got? Shayera: Ugh... It's crazy, I mean, look at us. Just look at us. Green Lantern: I see a man, and a woman.

I would like to point out that, had he survived the initial couple of rounds, El Dorado would be the only Super Friend left in the game!;)

I am a bit sad at the loss of Plastic Man. I will be voting against Elongated Man for the rest of the game out of spite. I believe Plastic Man's powers are simply more useful in battle. I have a lot of tough choices because there are quite a few characters I don't care about.
1) (Pre-Flashpoint) Black Canary (Dinah Laurel Lance) 2)(JL Unlimited Toon) Green Lantern (John Stewart) 3) (JL Unlimited Toon) Hawkgirl 4) (Pre-Flashpoint) Martian Manhunter 5)(Pre-Flashpoint) Batman (Bruce Wayne) 6) (Pre-Flashpoint) Flash (Wally West) 7) (Pre-Flashpoint) Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) 8) (Pre-Flashpoint) Big Barda 9) (Pre-Flashpoint) Vixen 10) (Pre-Flashpoint) Doctor Light (Kimiyo Hoshi) 11) (Pre-Flashpoint) Power Girl 12) (Pre-Flashpoint) Blue Beetle (Ted Kord)

Vixen is doing really well! Her votes are a riot. She's up to three 1 pt. last place votes, I think... Re Apache Chief, it's also interesting that in the JLU Toon, when they introduced pastiches of the Super Friends, it was the Apache Chief homage (codename Long Shadow) who ended up joining the JLU.
Did Manitou Raven ever grow? I know he was a shaman. Apache Chief has been replaced by two or three comic characters named Super Chief, and the, IMO, way awesome Longshadow, from the Young Justice cartoon. Manitou Raven died and was replaced by his wife Manitou Dawn, neither of whom really went anywhere or did anything beyond the stories in which they were introduced. When your power descriptor is "magic powers and wields a staff 'cleaved from the universe'" there's not much to go with there. What the hell is 'cleaved from the universe' supposed to mean, anyway, from a 'I want to use this character in my stories' narrative sense? We are all ultimately made from stellar particles, so you know what else is 'cleaved from the universe?' My dangly bits. Give your characters meaningful powers, not sound bites! This is the Justice League, not the Authority! (And if you want to introduce a native American character, try to look up the difference between a Canadian Algonquin and a Southwestern Apache...) I would like to point out that, had he survived the initial couple of rounds, El Dorado would be the only Super Friend left in the game!;) Apache Chief is still hanging on! (And we just lost Black Vulcan, who I always loved, for the visual of him turning into a lightning bolt to fly around. I have a huge fondness for people who turn into energy, like Lazon or Monica Rambeau.) 'Body of X' is an awesomely versatile power. Absorbing Man, Grunge and Amazing Man can turn into just about anything. Colossus, Mettle, Metalhead, Ironclad and Ferro Lad all had Body of Metal. Blok, the Thing, Rockslide and Stone Boy all had Body of Stone. Gas Girl, Mist Master, Backlash, Vapor and Veil all with Body of Gas/Mist. Sandman, Quicksand and Dust all have Body of Sand/Particulates. Not a lot of Body of Water/Liquid out there, though... (Hydro Man? Zan, of Zan & Jayna?) Still, hugely versatile powerset, used by dozens of characters.

Vixen is doing really well! I know she originated in the JLA Detroit era and returned for the Meltzer volume, but I'll always think of Vixen more for her role in John Ostrander's classic Suicide Squad run. To me, that's where her star really shined, so I'll always associate her more with the Squad and much less so as a JLer. That's why she doesn't get my vote in groupings 25 and below.

I wished I had put him a bit higher on my list too, but you'll get a chance to bring him back soon! One advantage of liking only a few characters on the list is that you will find it a bit easier to rank them. Vixen is doing really well! Her votes are a riot. She's up to three 1 pt. last place votes, I think... She has one 1st place and one 2nd place vote, same as in Round 4. But, she did pretty well there and I think she'll survive this round. Wow! I didn't lose ANYONE from my Top 15!!! Given the fact that I lost 1 or 2 characters in ALL over the last few rounds, maybe you should all start sending me bribes! (Of course this means total decimation is imminent for me soon... ) Ranking does tend to get more difficult as the game progresses. Especially since lists will get shorter and shorter! Since you have so many faves left on the list, I doubt you'll be able to find space for some of my faves even if I did bribe you

Just to add, I'm loving all the discussion in this game (much like in past games, esp. Teen Titans Idol). Keep em coming guys!
Manitou Raven died and was replaced by his wife Manitou Dawn, neither of whom really went anywhere or did anything beyond the stories in which they were introduced. When your power descriptor is "magic powers and wields a staff 'cleaved from the universe'" there's not much to go with there. I hated that about the Authority. I only read one story with them in it, and everyone's powers seemed to be "some awesome-sounding ill-defined ability which is most definitely not magic, but can do whatever the writer needs done at the time".
