I felt Metamorpho was better in the Outsiders. As grumpy as he was I don't remember too many highlights from the JLE run or his later membership. His stories invariably involved Stagg Ind with little changing.
On Rex, I fondly remember his flirtations with Constance, and his analysis of the Three Stooges juxtaposed with his deep knowledge and love for ancient history and myth. Speaking of, I always liked Constance as a sort-of reverse Batman. Rich businessperson by day, vigilante by night - except Constance had a twin who was Crimson Fox full time, and the Crimson Foxes weren't afraid to flirt with and seduce their enemies! I wouldn't have known he was a JLAer were it not for Who's Who But yeah, he earned his signal device.

7 to be cut from my list from last round. I was going to say that it wasn't quite as bad as I thought. But I've just made a change to keep Barda at the cost of Wally.
Wally is a great character. If there were only one flash on the list and it was Wally, that would be just fine. But there isn't. The same reason applies to the Hawks. If I had to pick one it would be Shayera, so Katar is dropped. Likewise Hal drops out for this round, as does Ralph. I like Sue, but it's end of supporting characters for me. As much as the Manhunter and the League are intertwined, there was a huge period were he wasn't in the team at all. I already mentioned why Zee isn't a huge favourite.
That leaves:-
1 (Pre-Flashpoint) Vixen 2 (Pre-Flashpoint) Steel (Hank Heywood III) 3 (Pre-Flashpoint) Firestorm (Ronnie Raymond) 4 (Pre-Flashpoint) Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson) 5 (Pre-Flashpoint) Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) 6 (Pre-Flashpoint) Booster Gold 7 (Pre-Flashpoint) Big Barda 8 (Pre-Flashpoint) Flash (Barry Allen) 9 (Pre-Flashpoint) Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman (Shayera Hol, Silver Age) 10 (Pre-Flashpoint) Black Canary (Dinah Laurel Lance) 11 (Pre-Flashpoint) Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) 12 (Pre-Flashpoint) Wonder Woman (Diana) 13 (Pre-Flashpoint) Atom (Ray Palmer) 14 (Pre-Flashpoint) Plastic Man 15 (Pre-Flashpoint) Green Lantern (John Stewart)

I remember a story with his kid in it and that's about it really. The usual griping sort of thing. It sound decent if he was using his history skills/ knowledge.

I'm still not feeling the agony of choice, since more than a few that I'd voted for earlier are dropping out anyway (Nightwing, Red Arrow, Oracle), so I can just trim down to the ones I like most.
I've definitely been selecting. Wally was the only Flash I voted for, John the only Green Lantern, Kent the only Doctor Fate, Shayera the only Hawk. No matter how much a fan I am of Kyle, to pick one out of a hat, I've got a select number of votes, and the League has had a *ton* of interesting blind-and-you-missed-them characters (like Mystek and Bloodwynd) that I'm already having to ignore, to spend my votes on three different flavors of Green Lantern!
And then, to totally refute that, I think I'll spend some votes on Toon versions of Vixen, Hawkgirl and John Stewart!
Do I contradict myself? Then I contradict myself, for I am Legion, and I contain multitudes!
.
1 – 250 (Pre-Flashpoint) Booster Gold 2 – 200 (Pre-Flashpoint) Vixen 3 – 160 (Pre-Flashpoint) Etrigan/Jason Blood 4 – 130 (Pre-Flashpoint) Captain Comet 5 – 100 (Pre-Flashpoint) Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman (Shayera Hol, Silver Age) 6 – 70 (Pre-Flashpoint) Green Lantern (John Stewart) 7 – 50 (Pre-Flashpoint) Black Canary (Dinah Laurel Lance) 8 – 35 (Pre-Flashpoint) Ice (Tora Olafsdotter) 9 – 25 (Pre-Flashpoint) Steel (Hank Heywood III) 10 – 20 (Pre-Flashpoint) Dr. Fate (Kent Nelson) 11 – 15 (Super Friends) Black Vulcan 12 – 10 (Super Friends) Apache Chief 13 – 6 (Pre-Flashpoint) Aquaman 14 – 3 (JL Unlimited Toon) Hawkgirl 15 – 1 (JL Unlimited Toon) Green Lantern (John Stewart)

I remember a story with his kid in it and that's about it really. The usual griping sort of thing. It sound decent if he was using his history skills/ knowledge. That was only really in one or two stories, but I still fondly remember those. They were among the first I'd ever read. Rex was helping Wonder Woman and the JLE with Echidna and her monsters. His love for travel and culture and history made him very relatable for me. Wally is a great character. If there were only one flash on the list and it was Wally, that would be just fine. But there isn't. The same reason applies to the Hawks. If I had to pick one it would be Shayera, so Katar is dropped.

Same reason I went for Toon Shayera and John Stewart over their comics counterparts... okay, not really. I really do like the toon versions over the comics versions, though mostly because I'm not quite as familiar with the comics versions. But I picked Guy Gardner (horrors!) over Hal, Kyle and John. Especially the more stable Guy of the reborn GL Corps. His struggles with mental illness made him sympathetic.

I took a gamble and bumped her figuring she'd get enough votes elsewhere, so I could throw some love to others who might need it more. Don't let me/us down, Peebz!!!

I wouldn't worry too much, guys. Shayera may have dropped in most poster's rankings, but so did a lot of others. Sheer quantity can make up for it, especially since a lot of characters are only seeing votes in the rank 11-15 range now.

I liked Guy best when his opinions so clearly differed from the others. Not when he was nuts, but when his agenda was a lot more politically proactive than his team mates. It made a refreshing change, whether or not you agreed with it. I saw a similar thing with Katar and Ollie played out more.

Seeing Vixen, Steel and the satellite league being so popular, makes you wonder what might have been had things gone a little differently.
I recall from the letters pages a desire from some readers to see less of the big guns and more of the lesser lights. This was ongoing for years and years. Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash and Lantern were often limited with the league. Their editors were often concerned about their characters not being in their full control. Other readers were keen to see more of the characters that could actually develop in the book. A credit to the work done with GA/BC and the Hawks.
But it went much further than that with most of them not getting to remain on the book either. So, what might have started with a solid enough idea went way too far.
Writer: "Why don't we have a league that's a bit independent of editorial control. A League that's there to promote heroes to get their own books. Like members leaving the JSA. We can develop them like Showcase here and not have the big guns get in the way."
Editor:"Great. We trust your characterisation of these guys. No more editorial bust ups. No more headaches. We'll take out all those that have ongoings."
Writer:"Whew. Creative freedom awai..."
Editor: "And of course all those that are about to have books...or mini series...or that we have decent proposals in for...or that appear in back up strips in big gun books...or..."
Writer: "Um..."
So the Hawks went off to the Shadow War, GA/BC went off to back up or whatever proposals were around and Reddy finally got a mini-series. I look at the "only full time members" as a way of justifying it. But that meant Firestorm going too. Even the Ronnie part of stormy didn't want to go. We're lucky there wasn't an Elastic Lad mini or Ralph might not have been available.

Y'all are gonna be strategizing ur characters out da game! poor Shayera ... (Poor Barda, I had to cut her this round and I developed my LMBP Peebs party on her!) I also realy liked toon Wally West, I thought he was the cartoon. I think these two sets of winners is going to be pretty telling.
(Pre-Flashpoint) Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman (Shayera Hol, Silver Age) - 1582 (Pre-Flashpoint) Black Canary (Dinah Laurel Lance) - 1424 (Pre-Flashpoint) Flash (Barry Allen) - 1200 (Pre-Flashpoint) Firestorm (Ronnie Raymond) - 892 (Pre-Flashpoint) Hawkman (Katar Hol, Silver Age) - 840 (Pre-Flashpoint) Martian Manhunter - 832 (props to J'Onn for being the only character to get votes from all 13 players! Next most popular is Black Canary with 11 voters.)
"Another interesting set of stats - characters in terms of number of voters. (Pre-Flashpoint) Martian Manhunter - 13 (Pre-Flashpoint) Black Canary (Dinah Laurel Lance) - 11 (Pre-Flashpoint) Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman (Shayera Hol, Silver Age) - 10 (Pre-Flashpoint) Zatanna - 10"

I think I've lost only one character over the last couple of rounds. I tried to anticipate which ones wouldn't need my help this go-round based on voting patterns. We'll see how that works out....

We will see! I can barely wait 48 hours.
I think someone like Bruce Wayne might be a dark horse. Getting just enough votes to stick around to the final rounds and then beating the other finalists.
There also seems to be some serious cutting of the characters like Nightwing and Donna Troy who have other books to shine in and weren't in JL a whole lot ... despite I think both being very well liked.
Martian Manhunter really has had a great long career in the JL.

I was kinda worried about Bruce and Clark not making it thru this round until I saw Nighty's vote. I feel they deserve to make it pretty far. I showed them some love without sacrificing some of my faves who I want to make through who might not have had enough points otherwise. Jury's still out on some.
I'm particularly worried about Katar, Ollie and even Dinah right now.

So, if you had to pick one best JLA moment for those remaining on the list, what would they be?
