I could have kept in the part from my earlier post that this was a post crisis fan brain thing where we had a single post crisis earth, but started characters off from their original dates. From there sprinkle in a few later personalities, key events and first appearances and you could end up with perv Ollie. Just some passing thoughts.

I always preferred the idea of the left leaning Oliver Queen. Almost a throwback to the early comic/pulp days of fighting low level corruption. But making difference to lives at that scale. It didn't really play out for long in the comics, and his political reactions just became grumpy carping. Then leching.

I'd say ending the round on Sunday would be fine, but maybe give the next round an extra day.

Connor Hawke is the only one of my 30 not to be available (remembering that issue where he's up against the Key or when he's part of the Darkseid take down duo. At the time I thought he was better than Ollie who had become a pain before he "died"), so 4 more not to get points. That took a bit of thought.

As good as the Tomorrow Woman story was, I only recall the one JLA issue. Metamorpho says "no!". Snapper Carr; the mascot turned evil turned absent. And... tough...Steel. I preferred him to Superman for lots of the Morrison run, but the shortish tenure counts against him as does the Iron Man knock-off suit.

Angry Ollie with a cause was always a lot better for me than angry Ollie just because. I also didn't like the turns Ollie took later on, when he just seemed to annoy people for the heck of it.

Ooh, Dinah and Shayera, kicking butt together again after all these years. I'd like to see a JLI-era female Leaguer reunion myself. Fire, Ice, Kimiyo, Constance...



Same reason I bumped Tomorrow Woman off of mine. I didn't know her for as long as I did the others on my list.



I was wondering myself - it's a serious question, but were Shayera and Dinah really at the top of a lot of people's lists at the start of the game? Or did our long, long discussions on the Hawks and on Dinah Jr. vs. Dinah Sr. help propel them to the top? They both did well in Round 1, so probably the former

Probably, I always think of her more as a Titan than as a Leaguer. I didn't vote for Mon-El, Dawnstar or Karate Kid also because I thought of them as Legionnaires rather than as Leaguers.

Thanks, Dave. I think that's a good suggestion, especially seeing as how most of us vote within the first 24 hours. As of now only Lardy and Blacula and razsolo haven't voted yet in Round 3, and raz skipped Round 2 also.

I'll play it by ear, being mindful of whether regular voters have weighed in or not.

Going into the game, I would've predicted the winner to be a) female and b) Satellite Era, so I'm not surprised those two are doing well.

Yeah, though after Round 1 I would have thought Zatanna and Diana would be doing equally as well Although a quick glance at the votes so far does tell me that Zee is also getting a lot of love.


Maybe this game will be the first time a well-known character wins. The last two winners, Kole and Kinetix, were fairly obscure as far as Titans and Legionnaires go.

I bet Dr. Sivana is already practicing his victory speech for that I think a Villains thread would be interesting. DC villains only first. After that maybe X-Men or Avengers so we can dabble in the Marvel side. Would you help me make a list Emily?



I'm okay with discussing right here, I think it adds to the game rather than detracts from it.

I do have another serious question. Among the female Satellite Era Leaguers, I think Hawkwoman had the least screen time. What makes you guys like her a lot? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against her, i like her a lot and would cheer whenever she was used. i even like it better when she was used and Hawkman was not, so she could shine. just genuinely curious. I don't remember her being quite as used as Zatanna, Wonder Woman or Black Canary. Do you perceive her as underused and an underdog too?

For that matter, a lot of us have all 4 of these characters quite high on our lists. Which one is your favorite and why? I can't answer that yet myself but I do think if I had to choose, I would pick Diana. She always seemed so wise and gentle, yet tough. Not afraid to make the choices that need to be made. The way Superman and Batman treated her after she killed Max Lord really pissed me off, it seemed so unfair.

Even though I'm quite happy about it, I'm also genuinely surprised by this sudden outpouring of support for Hawkgirl/woman (and also Hawkman).

Not only because Shayera was undoubtedly the least used/developed of the entirety of the Satellite-era membership (she didn't even appear in the celebratory landmark issue #200, a blot on an otherwise perfect comic IMO) but I don't think I've ever seen much discussion about the Hawks in the entire time I've been at Legion World.

The Silver Age Hawks were awesome characters though, so much better and more interesting than any other Hawks before or since IMO, so maybe people are seeking to reward two characters who have been gone from us for such a long time? That and the fact that they possess two of the best visuals in all of comics.

I share your disdain for Shayera's absence in issue 200, and agree that the visuals for the Hawks are amazing. Thinking back, Silver Age Hawkman was also a lot more likable than the extra-aggressive modern version.
