2 correct in that guess.
Although Risk was also originally supposed to die, it wasn't in the place of any of the 3 who eventually did. His planned death was just changed to a dis-arming.

Whew. Those poor abused Titans. Risk, Dick, and the three planned death (and Terra II ended up dying anyway...)
And poor Red Star survived, but lost his "family" too.
Um...
Terra II Red Star Damage

TK has it. Argent was the third character, along with Terra II and Red Star, originally slated for death in Infinite Crisis.
I would have been conflicted if that had come to pass as I have never liked Argent or Terra II, but love Red Star. Meanwhile, I always quite liked Pantha and Baby Wildebeest and thought Bushido had a lot of potential.
Oh well. It's all moot now in the DCFU.
Over to you, TK.

Argent? Wow, I always assumed she was the most popular of her Titans team. She was picked for the Titans series over Risk, joto, Prysm and Fringe after all.

^ Actually, Devin Grayson just revealed in a recent interview that she had never wanted Argent on the team but that the editor, Eddie Berganza, had forced her to include her.
Geoff Johns also revealed in the interview that I used as the basis for this question that Eddie Berganza had been the one who made him spare Argent and kill off someone else instead.
Obviously Eddie Berganza has been reaalllllyy trying to make Argent happen. Give it up Eddie! She's not that interesting!

Wow. Devin Grayson must have been pissed; Argent stayed almost until the dissolution of that team, but other characters like Wally, Starfire, Cyborg and Damage were written out long before that!

Argent made it into the JLA team that survived Darkseid's Rock of Ages takeover too. toyed with making that a quick yes or no question round

You're right Ibby. It's all about perspective.
While he was putting together a list of possible names for the character that would eventually become Starfire, Marv Wolfman used a name that was picked up elsewhere. What could Starfire possibly have been called?

By "picked up elsewhere" I mean used somewhere else before he could use it himself.

Red Star? I think I read an interview once and I'm pretty sure it was Red Star.

(as an aside, I know we're just kidding around about the trauma of having many wrong guesses. But even wrong guesses help us learn more about each other I really enjoy all these Spaceopoly threads )

But even wrong guesses help us learn more about each other the size of my therapy bill for example [hazy memory] Was Red Star (the Russian hero) not originally Starfire, but had to change it to Red Star in his return '80s appearance because there was now a new Starfire? Not to mention a '70s version too. [/hazy memory] Not the character I'm thinking of...

Nova is closer. Wildfire was the name Roy Thomas wanted to use for Firebrand wasn't it, after the golden age character. That was vetoed because of the Legion's Wildfire.
