Slightly related. The Legion's founders are all affected by Element Sigellian which surrounds them. It affects them the same way that Kryptonite affects Superboy.
How did Superboy save them?

Was this in Adventure 267 or something, that issue where they imprisoned him? I think he yelled really loud to cause its chemical structure to change?

That's the one, and yes, Superboy used his super shouting. While he's doing it, he has to explain to the reader that he can't do it on Kryptonite as he can't get close enough without it weakening him. Thus keeping numerous kryptonite plot devices valid.
Over to you Ibby!

At least the writers tried very hard to be consistent. That was a silly story, playing up to the trope that superheroes solve things with power and violence rather than, you know, TALKING. Silly bullying Legionnaires.
LSH v4 Annual 6 listed several United Planets member worlds which must have excited many Preboot fans. These worlds were homeworlds of Preboot-era Legionnaires or Subs who were not yet Legionnaires at the time the annual came out. I count 10. Name at least 7 of them.

4 correct in this guess.
This is a tough question, so I'll give a couple of clues -
I'm not counting Xanthu as a correct answer, as at that time they had already had a Legionnaire - the deceased Kid Quantum.
Very good to have picked up that many homeworlds were homeworlds of Subs. But only 3 of the 9 were Subs homeworlds.
Some of the correct answers for homeworlds to characters who became Legionnaires long after the Adventure Era.

5 correct!
Btw, only 3 Subs homeworlds are among the 9 correct answers.
Another clue - of the 9 correct answers, only one planet was a homeworld to a Legionnaire who eventually joined the Postboot Legion.
And another clue - of the 9 correct answers, one more planet produced a character who was an important member of the Postboot Legion's supporting cast. But said character never joined the Postboot Legion.

That's some nice putting together of clues, thothkins! And you are indeed correct!
The last three?
Lythyl, Taltar and Myar. And I just realized that Taltar is wrong, because Spider-Girl got her powers from Taltar scientists but was in fact an Earth native. D'oh! Good thing I only asked you guys to name seven planets and not all ten.
Kind of odd that we have some considerably more obscure planets named as UP members, but others like Orando, Hykraius, Starhaven, Dryad were ignored. Some, like Trom and Talok VIII made sense because later issues would have these planets as new UP members. And I guess the writers wanted to leave some mystery as to which Legionnaires would show up and which wouldn't.
Over to you thothkins!

Glad you explained Taltar. I was going to have to look it up. Didn't really expect Phlon to be right, compared to the likes of Hykraius. Next question...soon. Unless you have a time bubble.

Phlon was never mentioned again, in fact. Except maybe for some lists of UP members worlds. Condo Arlik appeared, but they never actually said he was from Phlon. Stupid Taltar, got me confused. (Don't tell Thora I said that!)

It looks like I'm in for a flogging tonight. Either that, or I just destroyed the diplomatic relations between Legion World and Taltar.

How about a question on the flogging in the Know Your Legion Worlders game then?
