I could have done without the death. It made sense and was done well but led to the big mistake (IMO), trying to create a new "Emerald Empress."

It hasn't been that big a deal to go outside and work in the yard every day while the weather's been nice.

The real acid test began around Saturday or so, when the rain and mud arrived. I've got my whole walkway cleaned up and replanted now. (It took over a week.) That was the most onerous task on my outdoor to-do list, so I'm glad it's out of the way. I still have a bunch of other things to get to, however, and doing them while crouching and sitting in cold mud isn't really much fun.

I only relax my Facebook privacy settings once a year - on my birthday. That is the only time people get to post directly to my wall. I only do that because it takes a lot of time to reply to messages one by one.

Look! A brick has been thrown out of my monitor from the inside! It has a note round it. "Don't forget it's Ibby's Birthday!" it says.

Hmmm a subtle hint, if ever I saw one...
