Trying's about all I do in these things.

I'm trying terribly to be tenacious but I trip over all the tough Ts.

Here we go, only 3 left. I just made a list of my top 12 favorite Postboot Legionnaires. Which two did not make the cut?
3) Live Wire 8) Triad 10) Umbra

Umbra & Live Wire? (which I think is probably the worst reboot rename, just sayin')

Nope! Not the right combo.
It's not the best name, but I liked it anyway. Maybe because I knew Garth as Live Wire before I ever knew him as Lightning Lad.

See, that wasn't so hard? Live Wire snuck his way into being a favorite of mine. I'm not sure when, I think it was during the Team20/30 split. And it was cemented during Legion Lost. Triad and Umbra were both close bets for the list, but Umbra's early meanness caused her to lose out. As did Triad Purple's overly volatile personality. Over to you thothkins.

And had I gone for "Oh, I wish I'd come in much earlier, because I'd have got it right away"?
I think my point is made. Circumstance can make you honest. Or numerous forum posts that google won't remove despite the change in the law!
Oh hang on, I've just made a point. Right after telling everyone I think the point was completely, utterly, totally, irrefutably made too.
Bah! I'm going back to thinking of a question. A question that shall be here...shortlier.

This is becoming quite an illuminating discussion on your confidence in your guessing skills. Perhaps you would have guessed XS and Umbra instead, or even XS and Live Wire! And with that I am sharing this article - http://www.popsci.com/article/science/are-lucky-streaks-real-science-says-yes

I used to have confidence in guessing. But that was before I discovered this forum. Now? Well, I meet up with some other posters once a month for our therapy group: The Legion of Substitute Spacopolists. There's me, Forfeit Lad, Who Wants to be a Pauper Lass, Guess Again Gus... This film was made of our uncanny abilities

Bratpack movies came up in a conversation a couple of weeks ago. I ended up having to watch one I hadn't seen. It was:-
1. The Breakfast Club 2: St Elmo's Fire 3. Class 4. Pretty in Pink 5. Fast Times at Ridgemont High 6. Less than Zero 7. Some kind of Wonderful

Oh how I envy those who can guess correctly without going to the very last choice It was indeed Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Apparently it's based on a book by a reporter who went undercover back into high school. It has a young Sean Penn, Anthony Edwards, Nicolas Cage and Judge Reinhold in it. Over to you Ibby!

Wow. As this was totally random, I can only surmise that a Luck Lord felt kindly towards me. Sadly, this will probably be my last lucky guess in a few months Did you like it? Be back with a new Q in a bit!

Thanks for asking. As a film it was a little loose plot wise in places, but captured some of realism of that age group, without the heaps of angst that a number of the others on the list had. I guess that mainly due to the source material. It's closer to a few other teen coming of age/romantic comedies of the same period. There may also be an age when looking back on bratpack movies is a little creepy As the two female leads both undress in their roles, I was wondering if the film was actually made by the French Oh, the lead in Some Kind of Wonderful is also in this one. Eric Stoltz.

Of course, what's the point of "getting to know each other" if we don't REALLY get to know each other? An angst-light film sounds like just the thing. I hate watching tele-dramas, real life is depressing enough as it is. I have to admit I haven't watched any of the films you mentioned, except the Breakfast Club. And that one, only snippets (I was on the computer while my dad was watching it). I have mixed feelings about my own high school experience so I rarely watch movies focusing on high school age characters

And I owe a question, so here goes...
In the Suikoden series of games, the magic system is based on runes. You attach a rune to a character and it gives them the ability to cast spells, execute advanced physical attacks, or access special effects.
Which of the below is my most-used rune in Suikoden II (i.e. I've given it to the largest number of playable characters - there are over 70 playables in total!)
a) Wind (cast wind spells - sleep, healing, attack and magic reflect) b) Thunder (more powerful Lightning spells; specializes in powerful single-target spells) c) Fury (character receives permanent Berserk status) d) Prosperity (doubles amount of money received) e) Kite (shuriken users gain a special attack that hits all enemies for 0.5 normal damage) f) Barrier (10% chance of immunity to magic attacks) g) Kindness (character gains +1 attack for every half hour spent in the active party) h) Fire Sealing (character receives immunity to fire) i) Double-Beat (character attacks twice, but receives double damage if counter-attacked) j) Falcon (2 times normal damage, accuracy reduced by 10%) k) Charm (50% chance of an enemy defending the character from physical attacks) l) Bright Shield (cast spells - powerful healing magic and offense)
