What about "Saturn Globe" - a benevolent Brain-Globe of Rambat that ventures to Titan to hone its telepathic abilties, and ends up becoming the Legion of Super-Heroes' resident telepath?

Let's get some non-humanoids into this Legion!

The current line-up, then:

1. Calorie Queen: Bismollian eating abilities plus super-strength
2. Command Kid: illusion-generating abilities
3. Infectious Lass: control of diseases
4. Hate-Face: emotion-controlling powers
5. Grimbor: Expert with chains and other bonding equipment
6. Glorith: Time-Manipulation abilities
7. Nardo: Various powers, including super-fatassing, nuclear beams, and third eye with heat vision and radar
8. Policy Pam: Mild mind-control powers
9. Supergirl: Earth Angel phase
10. Leeta 87: Daxamite-class powers, negated by presence of Banyo fruit
11. Vykros: Magical vampire
12. Triplicate Girl: Ability to split into three girls
13. Dr. Mayavale: Super-Strength plus wacky scientific knowledge
14. Silver Slaher: Invulnerability, claws, plus super-fast spinning
15. Insect Queen: Ability to adapt the form/powers of insects
16. Wildfire: body made of anti-energy
17. Darkseid: Assorted teen god powers
18. Chemical King: Controls chemical reaction
19. Saturn Globe: telepathic brain in a globe

This is striking me as an incredibly powerful line-up for the Legion, with the addition of Darkseid, Wildfire, and Chemical King this round (and Nardo and Glorith already on board).

OK, so this line-up is getting *too* powerful. So we need someone who can feel inferior. So I'm going to put forward Estimate Lad. Exactly as he appeared in the DCCP issue with the Subs in it.

Paragon of Mercy (now that we've got that straight - thanks EDE!). Powers uncertain, but can definitely topple sentients at will. Competes with Mayavale for funniest- looking legionnaire and probably wins.

I came a little late to this party...

I want to nominate the Animated Style Brainiac (the one from the Superman animated series) as leader of the Subs (if they are re-formed on Earth-2) since I just missed out on putting him in the Legion.

Edit:

Oh, and can we rename Spider Girl? Way too main-stream and lame-stream for my tastes. Our Legion can do better than that. Lets go with Style, or Hair Lass (for all you silver age fans), Curly Two Combs, or VO 5.1, just something different than Spider Girl.

We only get one vote each so my second contribution goes into the reject bin.

Interesting line-up, though. Guess we need yet another Legion book.

Right off the bat I see Estimate Lad and The Polecat taking the 'spiritual' places of Bouncing Boy and Matter-Eater Lad...

I kinda like the Spider-Girl name... and I certainly think she should retain her shadier character...

I can see Chemical King (or maybe he could be Catalyst Kid) buddying up with Polecat. He could be constantly "refreshing" the air in the immediate area thus making it breatheable for himself and close-by others.

I bet Estimate Lad gets tired of people telling him to "figure the odds."

Can you imagine Polecat chasing Leeta 87 around the clubhouse with a juicy over-ripe Banyo fruit? Quite a nasty thing to do, and not a way to win friends over to your cause, but I bet Polecat is a huge kidder as a defense against the taunts he is used to getting. Maybe his friendship with
Chemical King will help him to mature into a stench to be reckoned with!

I agree that Polecat would be the Tenzil-style kidder of the group, leaving Estimate Lad as the Chuck-style morale officer and self-depreciater...

Darkseid could probably fill the M'Onel/Valor role, maybe having to hide his godhood (and especially the fact that he's destined to become a God of Evil) from the world.

Estimate Lad could serve as the Dream Girl of the team as well, only with really good guesses as to what's going to happen, rather than completely accurate predictions.

Not that Nura's predictions were ever really all that accurate.

I'll have to sit down in a little bit a try to recreate my LSV backstory but it's original three members were Lightning Lad (Garth Ranzz), Cosmic Boy (Rokk Krinn) and Saturn Girl (Imra Arden)

I had a great story all set up for how they came to be the LSV, hope I can piece it back together.

I think we have the original (Animated) Braniac for the Subs, does anyone have any more suggestions?

So what in the world could possiby cause our founders to FOUND the team?

What brings Drura, Taryn and Command Kid together? And what do they do that inspires someone to build a LEGION around them...?

Assuming that we go with my idea that Drura is from a planet of biological experts and knowing that Taryn's dad was a bigwig Bsmollian scientist (and maybe Taryn herself is!)... what if they discovered a cure to some plague threatening the UP? And maybe Command Kid was the first they cured...? I dunno, not very flashy, just trying to be different...

Which of the actual LSH founders roles are taken by OUR founders?

As Command Kid and Saturn Girl are mentalists, CK could effectively take Imra's role.

We sure seem to have an overdose of telepaths-- HATE FACE (emotion manipulation) -- POLICY PAM (mild mind control) -- SATURN GLOBE (who I assume is basically a Rambat version of Imra)... I think Command Kid is safe because his specialty is illusions...

I'm not sure all these mind-controllers should be there! Convince me otherwise!

Hmm... should we take one in a different direction?

I like Hate-Face as an emotion-manipulator.

But the Brain-Globes do traditionally have mind control as one of their main schticks. Could we interpret Pam's powers in a different way?
