I never once thought of buying this. I also didn't think to smash a hammer on my head or set my penis on fire. I would NEVER suggest such things, even in jest! So obviously.....Cobie's been thinking about these.

Burning bush is Biblical but I don't recall anything about a burning.....
Oh wait, wasn't there something about a pillar of fire?
Way to derail a thread Cobie.

This new title did nothing for me either. Not even the introduction of these new "Wonder Twins" did it for me.
Seriously,...... NEXT!!

I took a look at it and have to admit I'm tempted by the artwork alone. I thought the look was very good.

Interesting tidbit.
So, putting this together with the "inspired by Kon-El" bit from the Superboy series, I wonder if there could be tentative plans to have this title as the precursor to a new Legion reboot with Kon-El playing a very active role (after he gets better from being dead, I suppose)?

I doubt there are any plans for a Legion reboot at this time. As far as this JLA 3000 taking place before the Legion, does it really matter at this point? DC has totally abandoned any continuity in its titles, except for the mega title crossover crap-taculars which just screw up any decent current-running storylines.

Is there any story published over twelve months ago that can still be said to be "in continuity" in the DCFU?
Next time we have a DC/Marvel crossover, I want it to take place in the Hostessverse

Oh, I do get the feeling that it will build up towards something Legionesque. I'd certainly not rule it out at all. Hopefully it won;t live long enough, but I can;t image there not being plans to test the water with it.

The Legion of Super-Heroes will form: (a) to stop this rogue cloned Justice League (b) to redeem the mess the JL3000's backers created (c) as a competing team for RJBrande (d) all of the above (e) none of the above

Saw the interview. Since they know it's before the Legion, it must have come up. So it would seem there is a Legion option in the future.

On the Legion Tracker poll, I'm leaning towards choice "E" or "F". To eventually involve the traditional Legion we all know and love there would need to be another reboot, so who knows what would actually happen?

Are there any sales figures for this issue yet? Hoping that it flops.

Are there any sales figures for this issue yet? Hoping that it flops. Not at all official but the guy who runs the comic shop that I frequent tells me that, when originally solicited, there was some interest, primarily due to the Giffen-Maguire connection. When it was re-solicited (minus Maguire) the interest disappeared. They sold a whole two copies and one of those was only used as part of a prank (appropriately cut up into the shape of the 'Legion' emblem and spray-painted gold - used as a Christmas tree ornament). It this is any indication to the folks at DCfU then it's probably already being considered for cancellation. Good riddance! Long live the Legion!

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say I hope a bunch of people lose their jobs just because I didn't get the comic I wanted to read (which realistically is exactly what you're asking for when you're gleefully praying for the whole thing to go belly up), but this isn't really something I'm interested in going by the previews I've seen. It just seems like a really pointlessly mean-spirited reinvention of some iconic characters...not really my cup of tea.
The fact that this book exists at all doesn't offend me though. I mean there's absolutely no reason JL3000 & a LSH book couldn't co-exist, that's purely an editorial decision. I'm not going to hope that people lose their jobs and other fans lose a concept they enjoy just because it's not something I'm not personally invested in, that's basically the equivalent of being that kid at the playground who breaks everyone else's toys out of spite when he loses his own so nobody can have any fun...

I don't think that anyone's job is actually on the line with this title failing. In an ideal world, the genius who came up with the idea of replacing the Legion with JL3K would fall upon his/her metaphorical sword.
Won't happen.
Giffen, the writer, is one of the in-crowd at DCfU and won't have that much time to languish between projects. And, as for the art team, it's not that bad if applied to something else. If anything, DC has trouble holding on to it's creative people these days.
As for the desire to see JL3K topple over, I suspect that is just going to have to be accepted as how Legion fans see things. Even if JL3K were the best book in recent years, Legion fans would hate it for no other reason than that it has [arguably] taken away the Legion's place at DC. Sure, editorial decisions and sales played the lion's share of the decision to cancel Legion but, in our hearts, we'll never truly see it that way.
We're passionate about the Legion. Simply that. Anything that gets in the way of that admittedly single-minded thought process will always be met with resistance.
As for 'gleefully praying that the whole thing goes belly up'; I'll admit to that with a sly grin if only to "stick it to the [editorial] man", hopefully the ones who are avoiding the sword.
Long live the Legion.

do they not normally say that someone has the powers of "a god" rather than "god" just to be a little PC?
Before jumping on the Nardo-wagon, bear in mind that it was loyalty, teamwork and bravery that got the Legion out. Plot devices and bickering will probably work for this lot.

I'm just confused as to whether Locus is the name of the group or one of its members.
