September will mark 15 years in Houston and with my current employer and one year with The Boyfriend.
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

The Bizarrotron is a device utilized by Spaceman Spiff to measure how weird an alien is.
All aliens are scored on a Weirdness Level.
As any reading above zero indicates alien life, the Bizarrotron is also basically an alien detector.
Next time we have a DC/Marvel crossover, I want it to take place in the Hostessverse

Just as I was posting in the Lash Bait thread about how much Miley annoys me these days, her new music video came on the TV. Eerie.

The first line spoken by the character Frieda in "Peanuts" was "How do you do, Charlie Brown? I have naturally curly hair."

Yesterday, one of the "sister" mills of the one I work at had to shut down because an employee was badly hurt in an accident.

I think people actually like how violent the DC comics are now.

We can be so judgmental as a species. Sometimes I think some people just get so tired of thinking that they use all sorts of unreliable mental shortcuts.

The recent earthquake that hit the provinces of Cebu, Bohol and Siquijor damaged a lot of national heritage churches (none of them have UNESCO status YET).

The current LW FB banter reminds me that I'm probably the only fan ever who ships Gim/Yera/Cham.
Fandom really can be "a cold and lonely corner of hell" if you're a born contrarian. [grumble]
Also, I totally broke my thumbnail today! Double proof that life SUCKS!!11

On an actual serious note: Sorry to hear about rickshaw1's knee and the earthquake in IB's country. (I just saw some photos of the aftermath yesterday. So sad.)

[grumble] For what it's worth, Cleome, I can relate to some extent, because I've only ever met one other fan who feels the same way I do about Sarya's death (in a nutshell, we dislike it thoroughly) and she hasn't posted in years. Her name was stephbarton.

I remember her! (Steph, that is.) I wish she was still around. Sarya is an all-time favorite of mine, so I hear you both on that one.

[bows] I am (slightly) less ashamed of my penchant for non-canon human-alien threesomes than I am of my ongoing de-randomization of this thread. I think the actual way they wrote Sarya's death was good, and it made sense storywise. But fabulous villains are always in such short supply in the Legion-verse. I hate to see even one removed for good. (Well, "for good" is a relative term in comics, but you know what I mean...)

I really liked Sarya as a villain. Actually, all of the fatal five made very interesting first appearances. She developed into a favourite. I was sorry to see her go, but as cleome47 said, it was a very good story, with good Giffen art too.
While Legionnaires come back through the revolving door of death, the Emerald Empress has had a succession of lesser replacements. Although I like the Mad Harriot look of the most recent one.
Random form the web: Carnivorous animals will not eat another animal that has been hit by a lightning strike.

I don't think I've ever talked about it, but the Empress' death was exactly a high point for me either. To me she was the perfect villain. Thheeenn they went and not only tried to give her a shred of humanity, her unrelenting evil was blamed on her eye AND they essentially had her suicide. A poor end for one of the most magnificent villains to have graced the pages of Legion.
