Injustice: Gods amongst us

Injustice was surprisingly good for a game tie-in. It's not set in the Nu-52, Louis and Clark are still together and Clark & Bruce talk to eachother like actual friends

The bad thing that happens at the end is a little predictable but for less than the price of a bar of chocolate it is certainly off to a decent start IMHO.

FF #3
Batwoman #16
Minutemen 6 of 6 (but I think it was resolved in 5)
Wonder Woman #16 (Giving it a shot for the New Gods)
Wolverine and the X-Men #24 (despite a sub par fill in artist... grrrrr)

Young Avengers #1 (Trying it out but I am not so excited about this version of them) It needs Molly Hayes!

Masks #3 another title I am trying out and actually really liking .. Jae Lee variants really don't hurt either

Hellblazer #299 frown

Also enjoying Masks--the novelty of all the great icons teaming up + great Calero art is making it work for me in a big way.

It's really good, though the first issue was the best so far, imo. It feels like it's getting a bit crowded too fast, though. I wish they'd spend a little more time on each of the heroes as they introduce them.

GASPALOON! I went to the cbs last week, I think it had been 3 weeks-ish since I had been. Here's how it broke down:

9 Marvel, 4 DC, 2 Image

NINE MARVELs, PEOPLE!!!! *sobs* Everything is topsy-turkey!! White is black! Wrong is right! Even is odd! John is Kate!

*bites into topsy-turkey*

Yeah, I agree, It's as if you need to know who they are before starting Masks but ... as if it's the JLA and they are all coming together from individual titles ... but these ones don't have individual titles. I suppose we can kinda gather who/what they are. There are a couple though that have me hooked ... The Green Lama and Miss Fury.

I really enjoy the character's voices, they sound liek they're from another era.

Legion of Super Heroes #17
(MY 2ND FOR THIS BOOT!)

A fantastic issue of Daredevil (#23)

and the final John Constantine Hellblazer (#300)
... out with a well written whimper.

I debated getting Wonder Woman and Batwoman because I am in the middle of both the story arcs but ... I just found I didn't care or could predict where they were going ... and I really hate DC right now.

I got a bit misty eyed when I passed the Hellblazer TPBs on the shelf today at the store.

last week I went to the CBS after about a month ... (didn't see Saga though ... which is troubling ... maybe I missed it)

Daredevil #27 ... an awesome conclusion to the story.

Manhattan Projects 12 ... good but not as good as the issues leading up to 12.

Uncanny Avengers # 009 (these zeros are stupid) more in fighting and less action. Wasp comes off as a harpy, and Rogue comes off as a punk ... neither is appropriate.

I BOUGHT A DC COMIC!

Batman Superman #1 "the new 52"

I thought it was pretty good, love the art, and then at the end i got way confused ... not sure if i will get #2. Plus it wasn't all Jae Lee drawn.

The Bounce 1 and 2 ... was good but not my thing.

Powers #5 is still trucking but not an especially good issue.

Young Avengers 006 ... an excellently written issue with the excellently written Speed and Prodigy! i just wish more of the YA were in it.

Kill Joys #1. Quite good! I will get #2! Very interesting and quirky start.

Wolverine and the X-Men 030 -032. was ok.

Uncanny X-Men 007 ... was ok. all Magik issue and Dr Strange and was more like a pre quel to a story than a story. Lot of pages there just to set something up.

FF 008. was ok. I wish the She Hulk woulda smacked Medusa down. I've always thought Medusa was creepy. BEFORE her last plot line in FF.

X-MEN 001 AND 002. THIS WAS GREAT! Like marc silvestri and chris claremont goodness from the late 80s!!!! my jaded nass is in for more issues!

Coipel is killing it here. it is so dead.

Jupiter's Legacy #2. was good. getting some steam.

HAWKEYE 011!!! ALL ARROW THE DOG ISSUE!!! MAGNIFICENT.

Last week....

E2
Final Firestorm
Warlord of Mars
two Rachael Rising
latest action comics (probably gonna drop the two superman books)
Aquaman

DC is losing more and more of my money.

Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!

so what did you get this week? I haven't made it to the CBS yet ... I will go after work on my way home ... I am on Pacific time so I assume some of you got your comics already!

I'll probably get the Mighty Avengers, Manhattan Projects ...

jeez it is a light week ... I may not even go ... I still have some stuff from last week to read.

As part of my, let's try new non-DCU superhero thing, I picked up the first graphic novel of Sage. CBS guy said special, only $10.

Made it about a page and a half before I put it down.

Things more to my taste were Ghosted, Dream Thief.

Someone here liked Sheltered. Interesting premise so I picked it up but they killed the premise by issue two so I dropped. Not the kind of book for me.

Overall, a worthwhile experiment.

I haven't read Saga but is a page and a half really long enough to make an accurate assessment of it?

Not trying to change your mind by the way - I've been disappointed in everything I read by Vaughn too, but it took me at least a few issues to make that call.

How far does the stick have to go into the eye before I decide there's no treat at the other end?

I think the only loyalty I risk is to the ten bucks and we weren't getting along well anyhow so "proper assessment" isn't even a concern to me.

If we're talking a human being or a rabid dog, yeah I think more assessment would be fair. In this case, I'm fine. The opening pages pretty much told me what type of personality to expect from the writer/book and it isn't one on which I'd invest time.

Nothing wrong with it. Just not my taste.

Lots of good stuff ...

... and barely a *super hero* book in the bunch.

Young Avengers #10

Jupiter's Legacy #03

East of West #06

Saga #14

Fatale #17

Manhattan Projects #14

I've read most of them and they are super good, except for Jupiter's Legacy which I will review soon.
