I was never a smoker but grew up in the three unfiltered packs per person a day family. It wasn't until the government started banning smoking in public places, I started to notice new smells. These days, even smoking families, there's social pressure to not smoke in the house. Kids today have noses like blood hounds. Short story long: during one planning period I decided to go for a quick workout. Wiped off (no shower), changed back to dress code, returned to the classroom and put some notes on the board. Change of class bell rings. First kid in says, "smells like old people, deodorant, and white board marker." I was floored.
