One thing was different than I expected. I imagined we'd call each other 'Lardy' and 'Ex', but the idea seemed kind of foreign to him.  I betcha most people here would call me 'Lardy' if they met me.  Ya know, I thought it would be that way, but once I met people in person, they all gained "real" names. When I finally do meet you face to face, Lardy, I'll probably call you by your actual given name. 
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

Yay, Lardy! you finally lost your 'meet-up' cherry! Yep....and it still hurts! Imagine how much more it would have hurt if it was Lash. Regarding in person names. I have to say that even in person I think of Kent Shakespeare as Kent. Only because Kent seems like a real person name.

I thought about posting this in the New York Con thread, but it seemed more appropriate to have it's own. Having never met any Legion Worlder to date, I've often wondered what it would be like.
If I ever DO go to one of these things and meet some of you guys, I have a feeling I would come off as a blithering idiot! I'd be saying, "Dude, this is so WEIRD!" several times and in different wording that I don't think I'd be all that engaging. "Dude, you're Cobalt Kid...and you're Ceej---I mean Ceej! And you're Quislet and you're....."
Is that how it happened? Help a LWer-meeting virgin out by sharing YOUR first time! So, when you met Ex did you go "Dude, this is so WEIRD!"?

And I kinda DID that! I think I gave poor Ex a bit of a complex about it! He said at one point something like, "so do you think I'm weird?" I think my reply was along the lines of, "Sure! But I think we ALL are!"

Congrats on the meet up, Ex and Lardy. I had my first Legion World meet in April. Suddenly Seymour and I went to the same college. I'm now living back in the town where we went to school. He was here while en route to a conference. We met for dessert one night and pizza the next. Swell guy. Nice visit.
Beauty's where you find it. Not just where you bump and grind it.

Before Facebook and the "pics of Legion Worlders" threads, I had preconceived notions of what some of us would look like based on our names and "profile" pictures here. I'm pretty curious to see which guesses are spot on, and which ones are way off the mark!
